The director, Toni Harman, was inspired to make "Doula! The Ultimate Birth Companion" following her own difficult birth experience which ended in an emergency caesarean. This was before she knew about doulas and the film was made as a reaction to her experience, to explore whether a doula would have made a difference. See more »
