Storyline
Divorced Gary Chapman's heavily-pregnant second wife Heather, stepmother to Jason, is suspiciously badly beaten during a carjacking after a row with her former best friend Marcie Westerfield. Forensics and shamelessly abusive interrogation technique quickly lead to the car thieves, who prove to be linked with Marcie, as well as at least one Chapman. Written by

Did You Know?
Quotes
Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
You know, Ruben, separate from everything, separate from anything you can put down on paper or maybe even drive off a lot, is the value of a human life. And at the end of the day, that's all that really matters to me. I'm saying that if this baby dies, they're going to be finding pieces of you... all over Biscayne Bay.

"Heather Chapman" has an argument at an outdoors café with a "friend" who is really jealous that Heather's having a baby (she's unable to have one). The two leave separately and the next thing you know, Heather is in the hospital after a car rear-ends her and she's badly beaten up. She survives but the baby's survival is in doubt.
The jealous friend, "Marcie Westerfield," is the prime suspect but find out there are other angry people out there who want Heather and-or the baby terminated. The results, frankly, are predictable, especially if you watch a lot of CSI-Miami shows, which I have.
Jessica Collins was convincing as the jealous girlfriend. She had a face that looked familiar.
Overall, an interesting but unimpressive episode with the typical PC ending.
