It's probably going to be OK after all!

I bought these DVDs on the recommendations of previous buyers. After the first couple of episodes I felt a bit let down - like I was watching a watered-down "Chicago PD" meets the "Heart of Dixie" (or even worse, "Neighbours"!) : i.e. a very soft police soap. However, the scripts have been improving, and with this one I felt that finally they had broken through to the territory of the "Law and Order" franchise. The grit is starting to show - I'm now looking forward to watching the subsequent episodes.

Blue Bloods- No Time to Cheat ****
edwagreen4 December 2010
The common denominator in this episode is cheating. It looks like Danny is ready to swing with a woman whose partner soon gets a bullet in his neck. After it appears that she is a prime suspect, it turns out that the bullet was meant for her and the ending is tragic, but up to the excellent standard of the show.

In the meantime, Commissioner Frank Regan has to bust an old friend, who has been cooking the books so that his crime statistics are down.

This second part of the show that I'm discussing is certainly relevant to today's police work. However, that's what makes the show so good, it's relevance to today's society in general.

Party animal
bkoganbing29 December 2016
In this particular Blue Bloods story we learn that Danny Reagan before he met and married Linda was quite the party animal. I'm sure that Donnie Wahlberg formerly of New Kids On The Block could relate to that. But he gets assigned a case where the doorman, the all powerful keeper of the gate Manley Pope gets shot dead shortly after sending this dot com would be wolf of Wall Street packing. Of course he's a suspect but as Wahlberg's investigation goes there are a few other suspects and Amy Carlson gets concerned especially since club owner Gloria Votsis gives him the fish eye.

Commissioner Tom Selleck has a promotion problem and he's going to have to turn down Gary Basaraba an old friend he owes his life to. More I won't say other than Basaraba has become more disillusioned with life as he grows older. Something I can relate to, but not a good idea if you're in the police department.

Basaraba stands out as does the incredibly sexy Gloria Votsis in this story.
