The cultural clash between traditional-orthodox-India and modern-urban-India. The collision of two cultures creates havoc in the beginning but finds a peaceful co-existence, at the end. An orthodox boy from the holy city of Banaras, is forced to stay with a chorus dancer in Bombay... The film does the journey of these two opposite personalities and how, after the initial phase of rejection, they find each others place in their respective lives. Written by Anonymous
Very well written and directed film. Good work by Saurabh Shukla. Vinay Pathak has again proved how he's so close to Amol Palekar's style of acting. Last I saw him in Chalo Dilli...that was another wonderful film by this super good actor. He plays the humor with élan and so does the serious act with poise. Neha Dhupia has done exceedingly well. Its not correct to say that she's just a glam doll in film industry. She was good in 'Ek Chalis Ki Last Local', 'Phas Gaye Obama' too. She's going to stay in audience's mind after this movie. Rajat Kapoor has played his part with very subtle smartness. The characters for the whole film have been very well etched. Even the very small role of Neha's father has been acted so well by a Marathi-speaking person. Naseeruddin Shah gives that appropriate magical touch of his to the cameo. Vinay's office colleague played by Brijendra and Sanjay as food stall owner have done their usual stuff which remains sweet as ever. The superheroes of the film are its story and script. The songs are lyrical and very pleasantly flavoured with sensitive lyrics. The film overall is a delightful watch and will remain a TV favourite once it finishes off its wide screen innings. I'll wait for more from this team.
