Darren Criss is no longer attached to star in Michael Hornburg's upcoming film Downers Grove. Less Than Zero author Bret Easton Ellis, who has penned the film's screenplay, recently suggested that the Glee star was in line for a role in the project. "Whatever my problems with Glee [are, they] have nothing to do with the incredibly talented cast itself," Ellis tweeted, referring to his negative comments about Glee back in April. "And no, the producers of the script I wrote, which Darren Criss might (or might not) star in, didn't (more) »

Looks like Darren Criss will get to avoid some on-set awkwardness after all. Just four days after American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis tweeted that Darren Criss may be starring in an adaptation of Michael Hornburg’s Downers Grove that he’s writing, EW has learned that the Glee star is in fact not attached to the film.
It would have been a strange pairing — in April, Ellis took to his Twitter to spew insults about the Fox hit. One of his tweets: “I like the idea of ‘Glee’ but why is it that every time I watch an episode »

Water under the bridge? Back in April, American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis released a barrage of harsh tweets mocking Fox’s Glee that invited the ire of both fans and members of the gay community alike. One of Ellis’ tweets: “I like the idea of ‘Glee’ but why is it that every time I watch an episode I feel like I’ve stepped into a puddle of HIV?”
But now it looks like Ellis may be working with one of the show’s most beloved stars. Back-tracking a bit from his previous statements, Ellis wrote a tweet praising Glee »

From high school to grade school! I knew the Glee kids were older than their characters, but news that Chord Overstreet is set to play Brick's elementary school teacher on The Middle makes me wonder how he got through college so fast.
Disney fired Marvel's marketing department. Pretty much the whole thing. And yet the people at Warner Bros. responsible for Green Lantern still get paychecks.
Clive Barker took to Twitter to make sure the world knew that he has nothing at all to do with the new Hellraiser: Revelations. " Hello, my friends. I want to put on record that the flick out there using the word Hellraiser Is No F**Kin' Child Of Mine! I have Nothing to do with the f**kin' thing. If they claim its from the mind of Clive Barker, it's a lie. It's not even from my butt-hole."

So much for that bit of dubious casting! A rep tells Movieline that Darren Criss is not signed on to the next Bret Easton Ellis film Downers Grove (an adaptation of Michael Hornberg's thriller), even though Ellis took back the "tasteless" HIV-related joke he made about Glee. Downers Grove concerns "a cursed high school in the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove." Once upon a time I worked at a Barnes & Noble in Downers Grove, Il. The "Christian Inspiration" section was indeed haunting! »
Bret Easton Ellis, who uses Twitter to air opinions like, "[Glee makes me feel] like I've stepped into a puddle of HIV," is coming face to face with the puddle itself: Glee's Darren Criss has apparently signed on for a supporting role in Downers Grove, costarring Lucy Hale and Hayden Panettiere, which Ellis is adapting. Said Ellis on Twitter, "Whatever my problems with Glee have nothing to do with the incredibly talented cast itself. Have tastelessly bashed the show not the actors." Still, a minor Lol is in order.
