"I love 'The Wizard of Oz.' That was so magical, that film. I think I watched it, I don't know, 108 times!
"I first saw it when I was much younger, and then we were going to do a school production and I was cast as Dorothy. But then, for whatever reason, it got cancelled. Instead, I had to play the Pied Piper in the next production. Needless to say, I was devastated.
"Maybe that's why even today I love red shoes so much. It probably all goes back to childhood and dreaming of those ruby red slippers.
"When a movie that you saw as a child still affects you as an adult, I think that's the mark of a great film. It's definitely one of my ultimate favorites."

As Pam Beasley, she's gone from depressed receptionist to happily married mother and fulltime saleswoman at Dunder Mifflin. And while it's been rewarding to see her TV development, Jenna Fischer's true career arc just got a whole lot more exciting.
Fischer, a supporting star in movies such as "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," and "Hall Pass," takes the lead in the quirky indie dramedy from Fox Searchlight titled, "A Little Help." Cast as a woman in post-9/11 Long Island whose philandering husband (Chris O'Donnell) suddenly drops dead, she's charged with raising her amusingly depressed 12-year old son on her own, while trying to put together the pieces of a shattered love life -- and deal with an annoying parrot outside the window of her dental office.
The parrot may be annoying, but the love life is more complicated; that's always the case when your old high school boyfriend is now your brother-in-law. »

Emma Roberts, Chris Messina and Ari Graynor have joined the cast of Celeste and Jesse Forever. They are set to star alongside Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg in the romantic dramedy, according to Variety. The indie is directed by Lee Toland Krieger (The Vicious Kind) based on a script by Jones and Will McCormack.
The film follows "a young divorcing couple (Jones and Samberg) who try to maintain their long-standing friendship while living together and pursuing other relationships.Roberts will play a starlet who, when her career sags, helps the protagonist come out of her shell by hiring her to revamp her image." Messina stars as a financial analyst who helps Celeste get over Jesse, while Graynor stars as Celeste's best friend from college who's uncomfortable with her unusual arrangement.
I think Roberts was the best part of Scream 4, so I am excited to see her in this film. »

Adam Shankman's musical Rock of Ages has been searching for months to find its "Constance", the journalist who sleeps with decadent rock star Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) even though she's supposed to be writing an expose about him. The project courted Anne Hathaway and Amy Adams, but both actresses passed on the film after they were offered roles in superhero movies (Hathaway for The Dark Knight Rises and Adams for Man of Steel). Today, Rock of Ages finally has its Constance as Deadline reports that Malin Akerman will take the role. In addition to Tom Cruise, Akerman will be joining Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Diego Boneta, Julianne Hough, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine Zeta Jones. Rock of Ages is the latest film to fall into Akerman's packed schedule. She's currently shooting Medallion with Nicolas Cage, she replaced Lindsay Lohan in Inferno: The Linda Lovelace Story, »

With Season 5 of Mad Men still months away from going into production, these are dark times for fans of the show. Rich Sommer, who plays good-guy-occasional-bonehead Harry Crane, Scdp&C’s reigning Head of Media, to the rescue! In a recent interview with EW, Sommer proved that he is as big a geek for the show as the most passionate of fans: He defends the honor of Betty, sings the praises of Pete and Trudy, and picks the one line of dialogue that best captures Don Draper’s brokenness. And he addresses his infamous tweet that got everyone riled up »

In Hall Pass, the latest comedy from the Farrelly Brothers, Maggie (Jenna Fischer) and Grace (Christina Applegate) decide to give their husbands a hall pass, granting them one week of freedom to do indulge their fantasies and do whatever they want outside of their marriages, with no questions asked. To make things fair, the women assume the same freedom to explore the single life, leading to complications that neither couple could have expected. For seven seasons now, actress Jenna Fischer has been winning over fans and critics alike as Pam Beesley on NBC’s hit comedy The Office. And, even though this will be the last season for show star Steve Carell, and all of the actors have only one season left on their contracts, she definitely sees the show going beyond that, if things continue down the creative path they are currently on. During an exclusive interview with Collider, »

Take Me Home Tonight, Topher Grace’s ode to the ’80s, doesn’t hit theaters until March 4, but the actor is already hard at work promoting it. He co-conceived the story about a directionless MIT graduate who works at Suncoast Video in the mall and gets a second chance with his unrequited his school crush (Teresa Palmer) when she invites him to an end-of-summer party. The cast, which originally shot the film in 2007 (it’s how Anna Faris met her husband, Chris Pratt), has reunited recently to star in a viral music video, Atomic Tom’s cover of The Human League »
