Well made story that will educate parents.

I believe the former review to be very judgmental and biased and actually attacking. At no place is there reference to religion in this film. And as someone who enjoys theology, I can say that there are numerous denominations that prefer not to use medications. With that said I shall get onto the movie.

This movie is a mother's story of losing a child after they were prescribed psychiatric medications. Suicides of individuals on such drugs have been well documented over the years. This mother is simply telling her story and trying to find out how this happened. It is an attempt at closure and at educating other parents.

As a mental health professional, I know these medications are very powerful and used inappropriately or lightly can contribute to devastating circumstances. Just because I work in this specialty does not mean I think this treatment is appropriate for everyone, including children. There are some people who indeed need these medications but this movie is not about that. It looks at children and young adults and the inappropriate assessment in various settings with and without parental permission to do so. This is pretty bad when school nurses cannot give out Tylenol/Panadol without permission!

This is a very slippery slope. Children are learning and growing. It is not fashionable to be on prescription medication as a child. This mother is saying listen to your children, and to get a second opinion and to look at other causes of behaviour such as comprehension, diet etc. All of which is well documented also.

This is a very well done documentary which educates the average person and presents avenues to take before settling on medication. I definitely recommend this movie.
