Kousalya is the daughter of a very big village family headed by Radha Ravi and matriarch Manorama . She was in love with Abbas but he is now dead . She meets Kartik and requests him to act as her husband , then behave abnormally so that her family starts hating him then he can leave. Karthik accepts this and comes with her to her village .Paralelly he is in love with city girl Heera who does not reciprocate . The big affectionate family in the village over whelms orphaned Karthik and slowly surely he does indeed fall in love with Kousalya who too starts liking him .
Anand Raj is the family black sheep Radha Ravi's son in law who plays spoilt sport . In the end ,Heera comes to the village because she realises she likes Karthik . So Karthik is caught between Kousalya and Heera.
A few confusions , twists , family dances , duets later all becomes well. Heera sweetly paves way for Karthik and Kousalya .
Kousalya has a very domestic look on her face. Kartik's wig looks artificial. He started losing his sheen by late 90s but still is a delight to watch .
