Jameel Khan comes forward to say that he deliberately planted Lucy in the Kestrel office and encouraged her affair to get evidence of the firm's illegal dumping of toxic waste in Africa, collected by a ship called the Agadir. Will makes full use of this at Martin's trial, the result prompting him to return to London, which pleases Jane, who feels guilty over Alan's suicide. Wenborn attempts to blackmail John Slater by offering to let him go if he will falsely name Will as the man to whom he sold the gun that killed Philip Spaull. However Wenborn's wife, after years of domestic abuse, ensures that his triumph is short-lived and ultimately more than one injustice is avenged as wrong-doers who have escaped the law are punished. Episode #1.5
11 January 2012 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

What a disappointment! In my review of 4th episode I said that if it goes the way I think it is going I will not be happy about the outcome, but will like the whole idea. Unfortunately the way they went, not only makes me hate the outcome but it also is not as clever as I thought it would be.

First of all I would like to point out again how they suddenly made children Martin's victims because for the majority of the population they are the only ones worth caring about. Only the way they went for it was absolutely dumb. So Martin's ex wife tells him that "she couldn't give him what he wants" and he "puts it all together" to believe that Martin has child pornography on his computer? And not only that but Martin even admits it even though there is absolutely no valid reason to believe it! The whole scene in the parking lot was absolutely pathetic.

And how the trial went...All the details that William found out after would not be unnoticed. Men throwing laptops into the river (and who are even caught on camera) won't be unnoticed. People who come to the hotel twice aren't unnoticed. A woman yelling at someone about child pornography and how she will get police aren't unnoticed by any of the people in the rooms around.

It is very sad that such a wonderful show ended so badly.

One thing I liked about the episode was the ending of Mark's investigation as he falls down the stairs. This was a pretty clever done ending of the story, and it is an open ending since it seems that his partner Nick found William's picture and the fact that people he defended are going to be found dead will probably make him take up the investigation.
