Anthony Bourdain.s Novel Bone In The Throat Headed To Theaters; Dignity Film Finance Unveils Three New Titles From Its Theatrical Feature Film Development Slate

Dignity Film Finance, the Los Angeles-based film and television production company headed by finance, marketing and distribution specialist and Dff President Maggie Monteith, unveils a dynamic slate of three films the company is financing and producing this year. The titles in active development are; an adaptation of Anthony Bourdain.s bestselling novel Bone In The Throat produced by Lenny Beckerman (Uwantmetokillhim?) and Peter Heslop (The King.S Speech); the romantic comedy Closer To Fine to be directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) and Spy Vs. Stu, an action comedy to be directed by Hervé Renoh (Coursier).

Not a Joke: Ashton Kutcher to Play Steve Jobs in Indie Biopic 'Jobs'

Yes, we're posting this news on April 1st, and yes it sounds like a big joke, but according to Variety's Jeff Sneider, it's not - it's true. "I will be posting a Major story today that will seem like an April Fool's joke but isn't." Variety is reporting that Ashton Kutcher has been cast as a young Steve Jobs in an indie biopic developing, titled just Jobs. Set to direct is Joshua Michael Stern, of Swing Vote and Carnaval, from a screenplay written by Matt Whiteley. The deal for Jobs' biography came quickly after his passing last year, so it's no surprise to see something like this already moving quickly, though it is an indie project. Read on! Ashton Kutcher to Play Apple Founder Steve Jobs

It's no April Fool's Joke as Variety is reporting that "Two and a Half Men" star Ashton Kutcher has landed the part of Apple co-founder, the late Steve Jobs, in the upcoming indie biopic Jobs , directed by Joshua Michael Stern ( Swing Vote ) from a screenplay by Matt Whiteley. Kutcher's name was brought up shortly after Jobs' passing last October due to his resemblance to the Apple CEO during his early days as a hippie, which will be the starting point for the movie as it follows his path to becoming one of the most respected tech pioneers and businessmen. We’ve got another round up of stuff from the American Film Market to share with you today in the way of promo posters for Ass Backwards, Thunder Run, and Carnaval. Thunder Run is the 3D motion-capture war film starring Gerard Butler, Sam Worthington, and Matthew McConaughey. Directed by Simon West (Con Air), the film centers on the 2003 capture of Baghdad. The comedy Ass Backwards stars Alicia Silverstone, Jon Cryer, Casey Wilson (Happy Endings) and Vincent D’Onofrio and centers on two best friends who head back to their hometown in an attempt to win a pageant they never won as children. Carnaval stars John Cusack and Johnny Knoxville and centers on a sports scout (Cusack) who is forced to head down to Rio de Janeiro to recruit the world’s top soccer player. The scout’s best friend (Knoxville) comes along for the trip, and hijinks ensue. Josh Stern (Swing Vote) will direct.
