Gilmore Girls

Vanessa Marano ("Switched at Birth") has joined the cast of Netflix's "Gilmore Girls" revival, the latest original cast member to join the revival. Marano will reprise her role as April Nardini, daughter of Luke (Scott Patterson).

The polarizing character appeared in the final two seasons and is often blamed for Lorelai's (Lauren Graham) breakup with Luke. It’s not been made clear in which or how many of the four episodes Marano will appear. [Source: Variety]

Untitled Death Row Drama

HBO is developing a drama series penned and directed by Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney who makes his narrative debut on the project.

Vanessa Marano will reprise her role as April Nardini in the Netflix revival of “Gilmore Girls,” TheWrap has learned. The actress, who played Luke’s daughter beginning in Season 6, has starred on Freeform’s “Switched at Birth” since 2011. Vanessa Marano will be part of Netflix’s “Gilmore Girls,” becoming the latest original cast member to join the revival, Variety has learned exclusively.

Marano will reprise her role as Luke’s (Scott Patterson) daughter April Nardini, who appeared in “Gilmore Girls” in the six and seventh seasons. The character was polarizing, as fans of the beloved show blamed April for Lorelai’s (Lauren Graham) breakup with Luke, as he turned to the unexpected responsibility of having a daughter.

It’s not been made clear in which or how many of the four episodes Marano will appear.

After “Gilmore Girls,” Marano starred on the soap “The Young and the Restless. She currently stars on Freeform’s long-running family drama “Switched at Birth,” which was renewed for a fifth season.
