Very clichéd, mediocre acting, very poor effort...

I'm not sure what true story this movie is based on but if it was, it only stands to reason that they could have gotten a better cast and sharper dialog than what was shown on screen.

Med students Sam (Fischer) and Paige (Johnson) finally get the cabin in the mountains from Sam's uncle and what was supposed to be a romantic weekend getaway turns into six friends getting together, having a few drinks and a little fun. Sam's brother, Anthony (Patrick) and his girlfriend, Betsey (Lyon) tag along. Betsey invites her best guy friend, Jeremy (Campanello) and Paige invites a girlfriend, Lindsay (Brandt). Once they are settled into the house, a little neighbor boy named Corey (Reilly) comes along because his parents are out of town and his 16-year-old sister who's supposed to be watching him is drinking with her friends. When they all go outside for a bonfire and some S'mores and beer, finally something happens, tragedy strikes. And it only took about 40 minutes to get there.

They all panic and silly dialog is strewn about fast and furiously as if it were confetti for a bon voyage party. The characters make the dumbest choices ever and all logic and reasoning goes completely out the window as they try to work their way out of the situation they're thrust into. True story or not, I just don't take well to stupid characters (in silly comedies, yes). It all leads up to a very big decision that Paige has to make regarding her brother and her lover that is supposed to leave us in shock and awe, but it's done so poorly that it's almost laughable. The only thing that saves this from getting a complete fail is the ending scene set one year later after these events.

The acting is mediocre at best with the kid being the screen's worst offender, his was atrocious. The effects weren't all terrible, the blood did actually look like blood, at least. The head-shot victims did look like they just stuck a big fake piece of plastic barf over their head, though. Apparently, the actors who played Sam and Paige also wrote the inept screenplay and dated while working on the film and now they are married. Well, at least somebody got some good out of this train wreck. More reviews at Final Grade: D-
