Blarghaaahrgarg!
20 December 2015 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

"Blarghaaahrgarg" (2010) is a 15 minute independent monster film; in it we see a young man who has a dirty job, a cold, a very minor accident, and a big, ruthless monster in his bedroom that just wants to eat.

There is very little dialogue (film is subtitled also) which I think helps, although the pace drags sometimes due to shots lasting for, say, 4 seconds when they could have lasted 2. I felt that the music was inconsequential and I was unsure as to what tone the filmmakers were going for.

The monster is good. It reminded me of the monsters featured in "The Deadly Spawn" (1983), "Abomination" (1986) and "The Green Slime" (1968). Gore is used to good effect too.

All in all for a film made by people starting out (I would assume) or maybe even just having a laugh and thinking they'd just show it on YouTube for fun, it's not bad.

The 5/10 is purely for the monster and the gore.
