- This film appears in an attempt to portray the uncertainties and anxieties experienced by many young-adults at the beginning of their independent life. Through the lens of horror, "CAMALEOA" is a 22-minute short film that tells the story of Salma, a young artist who faces emotional and psychological complexities as she leaves the house in which she grew up. The house is an inheritance from her deceased parents and is located far from the city center, also geographically distancing her from contact with work and friends. The narrative takes place on the last day of the move, during his 22nd birthday, in which he receives a visit from Raphaela, his older sister. As the disarray of the house and the conversations between the two sisters unfold, we are transported, as spectators, to scenarios and parallel narratives which reveal a unique and subjective perspective of the protagonist regarding the fear of the unexpected, as well as the future. The entry of Raphaela's presence as an external point that is the mentor of this exit from the comfort zone, also marks a place of stability that is significant in Salma's life. The feeling of having a constant midst an extremely troubled emotional landscape provides a unique dynamic between the two sisters, as this bond is a notable boost in Salma's development as she takes on the role of heroine. Personified through a bizarre figure, the terrifying sense of self-sabotage added to the impediment of moving forward make it impossible for Salma to perform her double rebirth: overcome your anxieties and celebrate the adaptation to another moment. The visual identity of the film is based on a linear narrative with the insertion of symbolism. These are developed through the protagonist's intrinsic code. The inspiration for the scenarios comes from the esoteric. In this sense, as an escape valve, they are shaped between the imprisonment of Salma's house and the passage to the vast and free, represented here in landscapes. A beach with a horizon forged in the false sensation of lightness and a forest, revealed by the blindfolded protagonist and later filled with the figure of a mannequin. The presentation of the mannequins as an allegory highlights the external demand that, during the congratulations song, brings a glimpse of the requirements with regard to the expectations that pressure Salma in social and professional life. Referencing elements of contemporary horror cinema, superimposed and sudden images appear at certain times. The plot is guided through truncated dialogues of psychological terror.
