'Phineas and Ferb' was one of the few Disney Channel shows in (relatively) recent years that was watched by me and my siblings, also Disney fans, since its inception and continued to watch completely hooked, the re-runs being holiday highlights. That's no joke. The earlier episodes are better than the later ones, funnier and more creative, but even when the show was not at its best it was better than quite a lot of the shows airing on Disney Channel, which has not been the same it used to be for years, at the time.

Both "Split Personality" and "Brain Drain" had great premises, the show often excelled when it came to the more scientific/science fiction-oriented concepts where the imagination often runs wild, and also great execution. Especially "Split Personality", which actually does bring freshness and its own spin on a popular type of story. There was the worry of whether they would be too formulaic, but they weren't despite "Brain Drain" not being as creative in execution.

"Brain Drain" is ever so slightly on the predictable side due to being not as original in concept, but still manages to be wildly entertaining and the energy is there throughout. "Split Personality" is funnier and has a different feel to it, also felt that the writers had a little more fun with it and that it felt fresher.

The animation is full of vibrant colour, quirky character designs and meticulous attention to detail in the backgrounds. The music is dynamic with the action and the theme song is insanely catchy with very clever and quotable lyrics that anybody still in school fishing for how to spend their vacation will relate to.

Wonderful writing in both episodes as well, especially in "Split Personality". They are equally wonderful on this front, very intelligent, never juvenile or confused and often very funny to hilarious. The stories are engaging and have a lively energy.

Doofenschmirtz's subplots in both episodes are a lot of fun, though "Brain Drain's" is slightly derivative. Really did get a kick out of his insane invention in "Split Personality" and it was hard to not relate to Vanessa in the one for "Brain Drain". All the characters are on point as are the interactions (Perry and Doofenschmirtz together are gold and that has always been the case) and the voice acting.

Concluding, great. 9/10.
