Storyline

The police starts an investigation against drunk road danger Steph, who sort of accepts she risks a serious jail term for recklessly killing Ringo, but for now is released. Her guilt further complicates the painful mourning for all Ramsay Street, feeling some divided loyalties to victim and culprit. When Kate confesses Ringo died heroically, pushing her out of harm's way, Donna unleashes her desperate fury. Written by KGF Vissers

Again, you kind of have to ignore the context and the worrying feelings of where this storyline's going to end up going and enjoy the performances and writing.Steph's guilt, Donna's grief, Kate's combination of the two, Lyn trying to be supportive, Susan playing the mother, Karl showing quiet anger, Toadie at the end of his tether... Only the sudden cessation of hostilities between Rebecca and Kate fails to properly convince.

The first nagging feeling about where this might end up comes when Toadie gives Steph the same speech he gave Susan in similar circumstances:Basically, that if you've got friends and family you shouldn't be punished for your actions.Way to go with the moral, guys.

The showdown between Donna and Kate, after Donna's felt unable to blame Steph for what happened, is believable but frustrating.Oddly, Donna doesn't even seem to focus on the fact Kate was standing in the road, instead blaming her because Ringo died saving her. It's a believable reaction to grief but hopefully it won't be too long before it's resolved.
