‘Rock’n Roll’ Trailer: Marion Cotillard Plays Herself in Meta Showbiz Comedy

‘Rock’n Roll’ Trailer: Marion Cotillard Plays Herself in Meta Showbiz Comedy
Marion Cotillard and her partner Guillaume Canet have reteamed to star in the film “Rock’n Roll.” This time the duo, who previously worked together on “Blood Ties” and “Little White Lies,” portray themselves in this meta showbiz comedy.

After Canet is told by a young co-star that he’s not “rock’n roll” enough and can’t sell films anymore, the actor then tries to prove her wrong by getting help from his wife and actress Marion Cotillard. The first trailer (via The Playlist) doesn’t include subtitles but it has enough fun scenes that show the actors in sticky situations, and helps you understand the narrative.

Directed by Canet, “Rock’n Roll” also co-stars Gilles Lellouche, Philippe Lefebvre, Camille Rowe, Kev Adams, Ben Foster and Maxim Nucci, among others. There’s no word yet on when,

Marion Cotillard Plays Herself in First Trailer for Guillaume Canet’s ‘Rock’n Roll’

After working together on Little White Lies and Blood Ties, for the third time this decade Guillaume Canet has directed his partner Marion Cotillard. The film, titled Rock’n Roll, doesn’t have U.S. distribution yet, but it’ll arrive in France early next year and so it’s time for the first international trailer.

A drama with a meta spin, Canet and Cotillard play themselves, with the latter telling the former he’s not rock ‘n’ roll enough, so he “freaks out” and goes to learn from the French king of rock, Johnny Hallyday. While the first trailer is free of subtitles, one can see the meta elements at play with awards shows and studio back lots. Canet, whose last film was co-scripted by James Gray, hasn’t quite had the U.S break-out that some other French contemporaries have had, but hopefully this one gets some attention here.

Will ‘Allied’ Be the Next Film on Marion Cotillard’s Flawless Résumé?

Marion Cotillard has been in the business since the age of 18 and, within the more than two decades of churning out more than 50 feature movies, has rarely — if ever — turned in a bad performance no matter which role she inhabits. And now, with Allied set to hit theaters on November 23, the French-born actress is expected to wow us once more.

Allied, which is directed by Robert Zemeckis, stars Cotillard as a French Resistance fighter named Marianne Beausejour and Brad Pitt as an intelligence officer in North Africa named Max Vatan who begin a relationship while behind enemy lines. The two decide to take their romance to London — where they marry — but their love is tested by the pressures of World War II.

While moviegoers have yet to see anything beyond the teasers and trailers for the Paramount flick,

Video Game Review – Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration

Kris Wall reviews Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration…

In the wake of its timed year long exclusivity period to Xbox One, and the aftermath of controversy it seemed to cause as Microsoft and Crystal Dynamics managed to stoke the fires of fanboy wrath, Rise of the Tomb Raider finally lands on the PlayStation 4 in the form of the 20 Year Celebration edition, a definitive package that includes all of the additional Dlc released so far, as well as the entirely new Blood Ties content. Rise of the Tomb Raider follows on from Crystal Dynamics’ excellent 2013 reboot of the series which focused on the origins of Lara Croft before she became a legendary Tomb Raider, it combined thrilling adventure with some surprisingly nuanced and thoughtful character development in regards to Lara herself.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Review

This review is an updated version of our review of the PC version and the game’s two Dlc packs.

Some people might dismiss it as yet another action-adventure title, but I still hold great respect for Crystal Dynamics’ reboot of the Tomb Raider series. Rebooting a series is difficult enough, but when you’re talking about Tomb Raider, a series that has such a long and illustrious history, the stakes are that much higher.

Tomb Raider (or Tomb Raider 2013 as some might call it) played it safe in many ways. Drawing inspiration from other games such as Uncharted, the rigid controls and less-than-fluid gunplay were ditched in favor of more freeform traversal and a much more manageable combat system, with an emphasis on melee and Lara’s now trademark bow and arrow.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a decidedly-more next-gen game (mainly when it comes to its visuals

Square Enix Digs Up Rise Of The Tomb Raider PS4 Pro Trailer

In light of September’s PS4 Pro reveal, one of the big questions going into the crowded fall season will be whether a new release supports Sony’s mid-generation hardware upgrade out of the box. As previously reported, this is something the Japanese platform-holder will leave in the hands of developers – first-party studios notwithstanding – as compatibility is measured on a case-by-case basis. Lara Croft fans needn’t worry, though.

That’s because Rise of the Tomb Raider will be take full advantage of PS4 Pro’s hardware capabilities, including 4K and Hdr (High Dynamic Range) support. However, the trailer released by Sony, seen above, is capped at 1080p. We’ll update this post though if and when the 4K version becomes available.

Making its bow on Sony’s platform following a one-year period of exclusivity on Xbox One – Crystal Dynamics’ sequel landed for PC earlier this year – this is arguably

Egx 2016: Hands on with Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4

Thomas Roach gets hand on with Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4…

Despite having originally released on Xbox One last year, I still felt the need to play Rise of the Tomb Raider at Egx on PlayStation 4. For the past year I have kept away from any plot points or any details about gameplay in order to fully enjoy the games release on PS4, and that time is drawing near.

The hands on experience at Egx with Rise of the Tomb Raider involved Co Op gameplay called Endurance Mode. I had not played multiplayer in the previous instalment so this was a new experience for me which I enjoyed. The mission involved myself and another player trying to survive against the environment as well as enemies. In order to keep ourselves alive we needed to keep ourselves warm, collect supplies and take down any enemies who came after us. It

A DC TV universe timeline guide: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl

Robbert de Koeijer Sep 23, 2016

Wondering how all the DC universe TV spin-offs, crossovers and webseries fit together? We have the answer...

In October 2012, Us network The CW launched the first season of Arrow, after wrapping up no fewer than ten seasons of Superman origin show Smallville a year before. Arrow was a completely new take on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, in a new universe that had nothing to do with Smallville or its version of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. The series proved quite the hit for The CW, and a second season renewal inevitably followed. In season two, we were introduced to forensic scientist Barry Allen, better known to DC Comics readers as The Flash. Arrow got a third season, The Flash got his own TV show with great success, and the live action shared DC Comics universe on TV was born. And with it the question: how does it all fit together?
