This film is just a series of interviews, but they are some of the most raw, emotional, powerful interviews I've ever seen. Fascinating and horrifying, you can't help but be sucked into these people's stories. While this is most definitely not a "feel good" movie, it does leave the viewer with a glimmer of hope. Levine sets up the camera, and his interviewees spill their souls to the audience. Levine's masterful editing really helps to condense what were originally 90+ minute interviews while still capturing the essence of his "acquaintances" stories. Furthermore, he is careful not to over-edit as many documentary film makers are guilty of now-a-days, preserving the integrity of the work. You should really try to see this film if you get a chance, but this is one that you want to be prepared for, as it will linger with you long after you are finished watching.
