Tabu to be Directed by Academy Award Winner

Academy award winner director Ang Lee is all set to direct Yann Martel’s acclaimed novel Life of Pi and it seems the director is in India doing a fair bit of the casting.

New comer Suraj Singh has been zeroed down to play the lead role. While who will play the role of Pi’s father is still being considered. Actors like Sushant Singh and Sonu Sood have been auditioned for the role, however now final decision is to be made.

The surprise news in all this drama has been that Tabu has been finalised for the role of Pi's mother as Lee has been watching many of her films and was quite impressed.

Tabu's known to be quite selective of late and was only seen in Toh Baat Pakki in 2010. She awaits the release of Santosh Sivan's bilingual film Urumi with Prithviraj, Genelia, Vidya Balan and Prabhu Deva. »
