Storyline

Filmed largely outside the wire in Afghanistan over Christmas 2009, 15:13 The Soldiers' Story follows the National Support Element [NSE], the beans, boots and bullets people as they advance any and all supplies and equipment that are essential to the front lines. If the battle group are known as the pointy end of the stick, the NSE is the stick. The level of transparency reveals an intimate portrait of how soldiers think, what makes them laugh and why they want to be there. Written by Catherine Jones
