Legends of Tomorrow closes out the Invasion crossover in style, with a perfect superhero conclusion...

This review contains spoilers (for the entire DC crossover incl. Arrow and The Flash)

Legends Of Tomorrow served up the finale to the big Invasion! crossover that’s been going on all week. And I loved it. Like every other episode in the crossover, it was packed full of fan service and joy. It was an awesome way to close out the crossover. It hit every emotional moment and cool nerd beat that the shows needed to make the crossover probably the best thing the Arrowverse has put on television yet.

But at the same time… it wasn’t a particularly good episode of Legends Of Tomorrow. Let me explain.

Legends Of Tomorrow season 2 episode 6 review: Outlaw Country

Jim Dandy Nov 18, 2016

Has Legends Of Tomorrow sacrificed meaning for the new adventure-of-the-week structure? Here's our review of Outlaw Country...

What happened to Legends Of Tomorrow?

See related  Suicide Squad: 2016's most cynical summer movie Suicide Squad - 21 questions answered Suicide Squad: the lasting intrigue of Jared Leto’s Joker Suicide Squad - what did you think?

I reviewed several episodes last season and was really taken by how well they danced around DC continuity, how invested I was in the characters and the story they were telling about the Time Masters and Rip, and how well developed the rest of the crew was. The actors clearly enjoyed their jobs and their co-workers, and the writers did a good job mixing and matching the ensemble so everyone got a chance to play off against someone else.

I think I just answered my own question, there. With a couple of tweaks, »

DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 6 Review: Outlaw Country

17 November 2016 7:15 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

This was our very special Thanksgiving episode, minus the turkey and trimmings.

With all the team bonding goin' on during DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 6, it was about as family oriented as we're ever going to get, don't you think?

While the trip back to Outlaw Country was really kind of boring, all things considered, the relationship bits were a whole lot of fun, because even when Nate gets a little uppity in his superhero ways, his enthusiasm is contagious.

This was, to me, another installment to allow the newbies to shine.

After all, we've already been to the old west. Ray had his experience, being the one place he'd always wanted to go. And with nothing left to give at the moment, he's taking on the big brother role with Nate.

Because, really, before this hour, it's just been poor Ray. What the heck does The Atom do without an Atom suit? »

'Legends of Tomorrow' Recap: The Team Joins Back Up with Jonah Hex in the Old West

17 November 2016 11:34 AM, PST | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

Legends of Tomorrow doesn't keep the momentum going with the previous episode where the Legion of Doom was finally formed. Instead, "Outlaw Country" takes another time diversion; this time into the wild west. A standalone episode coming so close to the biggest Damien Darhk and Eobard Thawne episode is a bit weird, but considering everything on Legends of Tomorrow, it is likely to get thrown around by the big CW crossover in two weeks and it is probably for the best. It also helps that "Outlaw Country" is a fun, if pretty disposable, episode.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 5 Review: Compromised

10 November 2016 11:15 PM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Four out of five isn't bad. In fact, it's fantastic.

That's the excellent episodes over the average so far during during Legends' sophomore season, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 5 can be added into the rollicking good time column. What a win!

We were ripped off on the brief DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 foray into the '80s, but not this time. Not only did we get fun references and outfits, but we now have a near perfect team to carry out the missions and bring all these decades to life.

Legends was given four additional episodes to its current season for a total of 17. That's good, because "Compromised" finally began building the Legion of Doom.

Considering how long it's taking, I'm beginning to suspect the Legion itself will not be the big bad as much as the creation of it will be happening in conjunction with the »

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2, Episode 6 Promo; "Outlaw Country" - Jonah Hex Returns

Following tonight's 1980s set episode of Legends of Tomorrow, next week's instalment - titled "Outlaw Country" - will take the team back to the Wild West as they once again team up with Jonah Hex. The character starred in an ill fated movie a number of years ago, but the first season of this spinoff series is widely credited with finally doing the hero justice in live-action. The CW has released the first images from next week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow, and in them we get to see the return of season 1 standout Jonah Hex. The star of his own critically panned feature film a few years back, the series gave him another chance and delivered a version which made comic book fans much happier.

The Wild West setting is always fun, and Legends of Tomorrow will hopefully take full advantage of that. Based on the synopsis below, we can expect plenty of unique pairings as the team splits up and does their own thing. That’s something it handles well on a consistent basis, and for more details on what to expect, here’s what’s on the way in “Outlaw Country.”

The CW extends the second season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow with four more episodes

10 November 2016 5:30 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The CW has extended the second season of its time-travelling superhero show DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, ordering an additional four episodes to take the season two total up to 17.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow launched as a midseason series last year, and while Arrow and The Flash received full 23-episode orders for their latest seasons, The CW had originally only ordered 13 for Legends season two. However, the show has been performing well in the ratings, pulling in an average of 2.34 million viewers this season, an increase of 35% in the time slot from last year, where The Vampire Diaries was airing.

Synopses For Upcoming Supergirl And DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow Episodes Revealed

28 October 2016 9:55 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Having recently learned what the future holds regarding The Flash and Arrow, it’s time that we turn our attention to sister shows Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. And, if these synopses tell us anything, this will be one week of television that no superhero fan will want to miss.

First, let’s start by discussing the November 14 episode of Supergirl, which is aptly titled “Changing.” Not only will a situation that sounds desperate finally give James Olsen the extra push he needs to don his Guardian duds for the first time, but it seems that both Mon-El and Alex will find themselves at respective crossroads.

Jonah Hex Finally Returns In Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2, Episode 6 Synopsis; "Outlaw Country"

27 October 2016 8:00 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

The Legion of Doom is coming together very slowly in Legends of Tomorrow's second season, but the synopsis for the sixth instalment makes it clear that the team will soon learn that they're squaring off with the Reverse-Flash! That won't be the focus of "Outlaw Country" though as this episode will mark the return of Jonah Hex. However, will he be that welcoming to the team without Rip Hunter?  We'll have to wait and see, but the character's appearance was a highlight of season one, so this should be pretty good fun. As per usual, it sounds like Legends of Tomorrow will provide us with some unique team-ups as Vixen is paired up with Heatwave and the newly powered CItizen Steel goes off on a mission with The Atom and one half of Firestorm.
