Atrocious director Fernando Barreda Luna has something very different in mind for his next film. No more bumps in the night or shaky point of view camera here. No, instead he is cooking up a violent and stylish tale of action and revenge.Kiss of Vengeance is a western tale about a girl who becomes a true hero that fights the Mafia, inspired by a deep desire of pursuing the killers who executed her family in a horrible massacre back in the 90's. This is the lonely journey about a renegade young rider who can't trust anyone but her own skills. Set in the outlawed border of Mexico and U.S. ruled by the Cartels.A short film project designed as a precursor to a planned feature involving »

Full disclosure: I wasn’t a huge fan of director Fernando Barreda Luna’s found footage horror flick “Atrocious.” Although the film came packaged with a great title and a solid trailer, the flick just didn’t live up to the hype. In fact, I probably wouldn’t have bothered with the filmmaker’s follow-up “Kiss of Vengeance” if I didn’t have a thing for violent revenge cinema. The film is currently being crafted as a short, though Luna hopes to transform this mini-feature into a full-length motion picture down the line. Maybe he’s thinking something along the lines of “Hard Revenge, Milly.” I can’t say I would have a problem with that. Anyway, here’s what the flick is all about: Kiss of Vengeance is a western tale about a girl who becomes a true hero that fights the Mafia, inspired by a deep desire »

Back in early 2011, horror fan-site juggernaut Bloody Disgusting took a stand for independent and foreign genre lore by partnering with The Collective and AMC Theaters, establishing distribution company Bloody Disgusting Selects. Their purpose? To hand-pick often glanced over horror gems which get lost in the mainstream remake shuffle, and grant those deemed worthy of proper theatrical and Video On Demand releases exposure.
As an avid follower and member of “The Infected” (the site’s online community), Bloody Disgusting Selects seemed like a gleaming beacon of hope in the world of inventive, creative, and one-of-a-kind horror experiences. Selected by site staffers and genre enthusiast super fans sharing a common love for skin crawling madness, I made it my mission not to skip a single feature. Now, with their first ten tales of terror rated and reviewed, I thought I’d touch upon Bloody Disgusting’s foray into film distribution and determine the company’s future. »

Fernando Barreda Luna, director of the 2010 film Atrocious, has announced a collaboration with writer Sean Wathen for his first English language horror flick, The Dragger.
Luna announced that Wathen will write the film and the ball is already rolling. "We are developing our next horror project called The Dragger," Luna said. "The film began pre-production in January. This will be my first English language film, and it's being produced by my wife, Jessica Villegas. For now all I can say is that we're shooting in the U.S. and that it will scare the hell out of you!"
You've gotta like the sound of that! Especially when it's coming from a guy who directed a film entitled Atrocious! Gotta figure he knows his horror! More info on this as it becomes available.

Fernando Barreda Luna put his own mark on the "found footage" sub-genre with the Spanish import Atrocious, released last summer here in the U.S. on DVD.
A few months back, Luna used his Facebook page to alert fans that his next "horror project [is] called The Dragger ... This will be my first English language film and it's being produced by my wife Jessica Villegas. For now, all I can say is that we're shooting in the U.S. and that it will scare the hell out of you!"
Since then we have been informed Luna has tapped a U.S. writer to pen The Dragger.
