Storyline
Dexter and Lumen are trying to figure out how to get Jordan Chase but he catches on to the fact they have been under video surveillance. He manages to trace the equipment back to Joey Quinn, not realizing that Stan Liddy is behind it all. He and Lumen burglarize Quinn's apartment and find some of the photos of them at the marina. Dexter learns soon enough just who is behind it. Debra meanwhile has pretty well figured out the case and tells her colleagues about her vigilante theory: that the killer is probably the 13th victim who escaped and that she is likely being helped by a man. Lt. Laguerta is dubious however. Jordan Chase has conveniently planned to go to Europe on a speaking tour but not before he lays a trap for Dexter and Lumen. Written by

Goofs
Just after Dexter is kidnapped by Liddy, Lumen walks out of the bedroom of Dexter's apartment and into the kitchen. As she does so there is a light brown leather purse lying flat on the bar stool at the end of the kitchen counter. As she walks past the purse it is suddenly sitting up, then again lying flat in the next shot even though she never touches it.

1. Jordan Chase is just not scary. On the Dexter Scale of Cool Seasonal Killers he's dead last. Trinity is the hands-down best, then Ice Truck Killer, then, D-Man himself, the Bay Harbor Butcher, followed by the Skinner, and finally and without fanfare, Mr. Chase. He doesn't even rate a cool name.
2. Nor is he motivational. I don't understand why people listen to him, let alone are controlled by him.
3. Chase is so arrogant he doesn't even have a weapon after luring Lumen over. I understand that she's frightened of him but hasn't she been preparing for just this confrontation? She should have beat him down, thrown a lamp at him, gouged out his eyes, or something! At least knifed him. I thought that was why we were shown her getting the knife in the first place. He wasn't armed at all until he picked up the fireplace poker.
4. Liddy is wonderfully swarthy but not too bright. As he was on the beat of the Miami police force during the Bay Harboy Butcher scare it stands to reason he would've known the bodies were dumped inside trash bags. Along comes a guy who appears to be doing the same thing. Unless that's a common trash disposal method in South Florida, which I doubt. Coupled with the footage of Dex showing Lumen how to stab someone you'd think a light bulb would have lit up inside his head. Slimy guy, worthless as a detective.
5. And yet, he gets the drop on our hero. Although this led to a cool scene inside the van it still rang false. Dex used to be spot on: did his homework, rarely made mistakes. This season it's like he doesn't even remember the score of other kills he's made. The cops pulled dozens of bodies out of the water, most of them dangerous people with a violent past, yet he's fumbling around, rushing in without thinking. True, Rita's death probably messed him up but now that's got a sidekick along for the ride he should be in top form.
