Trivia

At the beginning of the Pilot, humans are engaged in active battle with Skitters and Mechs. At one point, during a human partial retreat, one young woman runs full tilt at the fighters, yelling: "South Boston! South Boston! They've just taken South Boston!". South Boston contains Dorchester Heights, where George Washington forced British troops to evacuate during the American Revolutionary War. So this would indicate a serious conquest for the aliens - taking a section of human real estate with such distinct historical value. See more »

Goofs

Porter says he's sending one group of people to Marblehead and another along Route 3 to Revere in order to scatter them from skitter aerial recon. Revere is on the way to Marblehead from Boston, and neither US Route 3 nor State Route 3 go anywhere near Revere. See more »

Quotes

Matt Mason: I was in school when the ships came. They were really big, and they said that we weren't gonna attack them with the nuclear bombs, because they might have wanted to be friends. But they didn't want to be friends... not at all.

Worse than Tired...

...the first two episodes are more accurately described as exhausted.

I think that anyone who came up with an original idea for the show would immediately be fired. We've been chased down those same alleys and through those same warehouses by the same killer lizards with the same thunderous music in the background a thousand times before.

THE WALKING DEAD didn't jump the shark until near the end of the opening season, and I'm curious enough to start up when it comes back on. This never got off the ground.

The opener had some 5.6 million viewers. It will be interesting to see if this momentum will hold.
