Latest business partner Hector, co-star Thomas Gage White, disgusted with dwindling profits, incompetent managers, lousy employees, protesters, theft and damage. Makes meaningless comment wanting to teach the vandals a lesson they will never forget! Not realizing that Daves already teaching that lesson, and at some point will be forced to help with the cover up.
Israel (Walter Tamacas) is a gang member consumed with jealousy over his ex-girlfriend Ericas (Clara McVille) constant flirting with Dave. Decides to get even, but soon finds himself screaming and howling for help as one of the bewildered captives inside a decrepit subterranean basement. Dave decides a price must be paid, dresses them up in costumes and displays them throughout the haunted house. Almost overnight he sees a surge in attendance.
As several patrons stroll past a struggling captive, Israel strapped to a table wearing a mask wire-tied to his head escapes his bonds and chases them screaming for help. They are thrilled at the realism portrayed. Dave however, sees the escape unfolding on the office security monitor and rushes out to quickly put a stop to it.
Suddenly on the monitor a hooded figure appears; obsessed with an obscure website www.torturefreaks.info brings his own reign of terror as he makes his way past several displays, to a terrified wanna-be gang member LilO (Dustin Lane) in a hanging wheelchair wire-tied screams as the new tormentor approaches realizing hes come face to face with death. He continues on, leaving a path of horrifying deaths needed to feed his obsession.
After days of waiting, Israels friends become alarmed of his absence. Susan (Vanessa Vasquez), Oscar (Greg Hall), Marty (Robert Adame), Loco (Raymond Rodriguez) and BFF (Marlen Tovar) decide to rescue him, after breaking in one by one they find themselves in a fight for their lives as they become the new displays suffering unbelievable terror.
After innumerable missing person complaints to the police followed by a local woman discovering a mass grave, Detectives begin an aggressive investigation into the Haunted House. And have the owners and several employees interrogated in an effort to unravel the mystery. In the end, the police have their murderer, but is he the one?
Terrifying and gritty, the DARQ is a tense, action-packed thriller filled with moments of disturbing and suspenseful horror. The director expertly grinds out this elaborate and intensely chilling story of a haunted house where nothing is quite as it seems.
