One of the best of its kind

This series from the UK consists of nine episodes of ghost stories. I believe all the stories are adapted (as opposed to being written for the series) from the works of individuals like Edith Wharton and Agatha Christie. In addition, the stories are often off kilter (Bewitched), ambiguous (The Lady's Maid's Bell), eerie (Afterward) and some very suspenseful (Feet Foremost). Some are certainly better than others (The Demon Lover I think is a bit weak but if you've read the original story it's not very long and so most of the episode is filler). Overall, it's probably the very best anthology series I've seen.
