The plot of the movie is inspired in the H.P. Lovecraft's universe, mixing some ideas created by the Rhode Island's writer well-known by Mythos of Cthulhu, a horror saga about an evil deities called the Outer Gods and Great Old Ones.
Necronomicon is the name of a black magic book that supposedly contains spells, curses, strange formulas and the history about Great Old Ones and Outer Gods, two evil races of gods that they ruled the universe in a remote past, before the mankind arose. Although the book is a fictional creation of H.P. Lovecraft for his short tale "The Hound" (1922) and other horror tales, his real existence is widely questioned around the world by horror fans and Occult's experts since then.
