Hardison tells Elliot that he survived an extra 30 seconds, in the pool, by sucking air from the chair's pneumatic lift. Apart from the fact that the chair was still intact and Hardison was probably lying anyway, the pneumatic cylinder only contains high pressure nitrogen with no breathable oxygen.
