Jamie saves a life, Danny solves the case

Both the Reagan brothers have a piece of the main story line in this Blue Bloods episode. Will Estes and training officer Nicholas Turturro respond to a noise complaint call and at a teen party find 3 kids ODed on a designer drug and one Jamie saves with some CPR.

The case however goes to Donnie Wahlberg and Jennifer Esposito. All the kids go to the same Catholic High School and the detectives chase many a false lead before finding the responsible party. The motive is one of the sickest the show ever had.

You will love the ending.

Wish the Writers would check their facts

Warning: Spoilers
Been enjoying the series, but this episode was the worse so far. Beyond calling cut Heroin a designer drug, the use of Potassium Chloride as the poison was just lazy.

For KCl to be toxic they would have to sort in excess of 20 teaspoons, more than an ounce of this simple salt. Why not go with the more common TV standby, Ricin from Castor Oil? Simply checking the Wikipedia entry for Potassium Chloride would have avoided this silly mistake.

As a fear tactic, don't snort that! It might be salt - you under cut any credibility, and end up having the opposite message: You can't trust the media when it comes to the facts about drugs.

Anyone else remember the Joe Friday and Acid episode of Dragnet?

Your A.P. the Killer? Blue Bloods **** for this Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Wonderful episode detailing that drugs can now be sold over the internet.

This episode shows a definite difference between Donnie Wahlberg and his Harvard educated brother, both police officers. The former, much more experienced, is practical and lets the language flow with a sort of Brooklyn accent.

The excellent episode shows the horrors of drug abuse and its rather easy availability to our youths. The twist comes when the arrested drug dealers turn out not to be the murderers. It is most shocking who the murderer turned out to be. Of course, the horrible reason for doing this speaks out about another societal problem which I shall not go into

Surprising to see that the younger officer is an advocate for possibly legalizing drugs. The older brother, Wahlberg, who did not dominate this episode, seems to be much more conservative in general.

Worst Episode of Season 1 - Four Stars for this Episode

Warning: Spoilers
** This review may contain spoilers **

Let me start off by saying that I think Blue Bloods is an excellent series and that the acting is first rate.

But this episode left me wondering if the script writer was having a bad day when he sat down to write this. In addition to the chemical errors referred to in other reviews.

We are asked to believe that an 'Intelligent Woman' (as referred to by detectives) carried out a hit and run, using her own car, after which she removes the ID plate (why didn't she remove it before ?) and then continues to use and park the car in the road at her place of work so that it can be immediately identified by the police's first visit. Aside from which, the whole plot just wasn't believable.

I think that I could have come up with a better ending than that.

Thankfully, having seen 15 episodes of season 1, this episode is an exception to an otherwise brilliant series.
