Amy Schumer and Blake Lively are outraged about a recent Girls’ Life magazine cover. A mother of five living in Israel named Shoshanna Keats-Jaskoll posted a side-by-side comparison of the covers of Girls’ Life and Boys’ Life to Facebook on September 1, and it seems that the two actresses just got wind of the image. “No,” Schumer simply captioned the image, which she posted on Wednesday. Kim Kardashian Reveals That Some of Taylor Swift's BFFs Texted Her About Their Feud

22 September 2016 1:15 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Kim Kardashian's profile in the pages of Wonderland magazine include more than just head-scratchingly sexy photos; the reality star gives a candid interview and opens up about her recent feud with Taylor Swift - fueled, of course, by Taylor's claims that she didn't know about the lyrics in Kanye West's "Famous" - even revealing that members of the "Bad Blood" singer's infamous group of BFFs reached out to her personally about the falling out. "Girls in her squad hit me up on text," Kim said - but when asked who exactly sent her messages, she replied, "I'm not petty." Kim also reiterated the fact that she typically stays out of things like this, saying, "I never publicly talk bad about people. I still don't feel like I have. I'm being honest. I'm a fan. I like her music. There was no shade." For what it's worth, Kim has »

7 Films New to Netflix to Watch In October 2016, Including ‘Unforgiven’ and ‘Dazed and Confused’

22 September 2016 12:52 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Next month, Netflix offers up a big selection of films of all stripes — modern to classic, animated to live action, Best Picture winners to teen phenomenons — and we’ve picked seven that you should watch as soon as humanly possible, either for the first time or as part of a nostalgic little binge. Enjoy.

1. “Unforgiven” (available October 1)

The winner of four Oscars, including Best Picture, Clint Eastwood’s 1992 film “Unforgiven” is the last Western he directed and starred in, and he made it count. About an aging outlaw tasked with one final job, the film examines the myths of the West and how they’re perverted and distorted over time, as well as the contradictions within established national archetypes. It’s arguably Eastwood’s defining masterpiece, and one of the very best films of the 90s. See it immediately.

2. “Dazed and Confused” (available October 1)

'Transparent' star Gaby Hoffmann on nudity, child acting, and what scares her

22 September 2016 6:00 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Amazon premieres the third season of its Emmy winner Transparent tomorrow. It remains a marvelous show, full of great performances and imagery, though the different threads of season 3 don't tie together at the end quite as effective as the first two years did. I'll have an episode-by-episode breakdown sometime over the weekend or early next week, after people have had a chance to watch the whole thing. In the meantime, here's a conversation I had with Transparent co-star Gaby Hoffmann, who as a child actress worked with some of the biggest movie stars in the world (Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in Sleepless in Seattle), quit the business to go to college and become an adult, then returned to acting a decade later. Between Transparent, Girls (where she plays Adam's erratic sister), and her movie roles, the adult Hoffmann has established herself as »

Review: ‘Mr. Robot’ Season 2 Finale Unleashes Its Patient Predators

Last Week’S Review: ‘Mr. Robot’ Season 2 Goes Full David Lynch As We Prepare for the End

In Elliot’s Head, Two’s A Crowd

We begin with another view of a scene from last season, with Mr. Robot talking to Tyrell. Except now we see Elliott delivering the same words, and planting the idea in Tyrell’s head that “you’re only seeing what’s in front of you. You’re not seeing what’s above you.” Then Tyrell tells us the significance of the “Red Wheelbarrow” — a reminder of a father he doesn’t want to resemble — which highlights Elliott’s decision to give that name to the notebook he used to distance himself from his own unacceptable father figure.

And we finally learn the details of Stage Two, a Wisdom-esque attempt to wipe out all of E-Corp’s backup paper records and prevent them from rebuilding their »

Why Emmys 2017 Promises Even More Inclusion

21 September 2016 10:15 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

When all was said and done and accepted, the 68th annual Primetime Emmy Awards went down easy, with voters serving up a mix of shoo-ins and surprises among the winners.

But the TV business is strapping in for a much wilder ride next year, when the playing field will be wide open, probably even more crowded, extremely diverse, and perhaps most significantly, free of dragons.

The potential for newbies to break through with nominations or wins next year is strong now that HBO’s “Game of Thrones” is sitting out the 2017 race. HBO has opted, at the behest of the show’s producers, to push the drama’s seventh season premiere to next summer, just outside of the 2016-17 eligibility window. The sidelining of the show that has dominated Emmy nominations and wins for the past two years will open up a vacuum that plenty of worthy contenders will fight to fill.
