Curvy Blogger Shuts Down Guy Who Tried to Turn Her Into a Fat-Shaming Meme: ‘I Don’t Like You’

22 September 2017 9:02 AM, PDT | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Curvy blogger Lesego Legobane has higher standards than a guy who makes fat-shaming memes.

Legobane was surprised to find herself the subject of a Twitter meme that compared two women — one thin, and the other, Legobane, curvy. The caption reads: “Girls that I like vs Girls that like me.”

She told BuzzFeed that she heard about the meme after someone tagged her in it, and decided the guy who made it, Leyton Mokgerepi, “had to know his place.”

“So I decided to reply because I felt he was being rude,” Legobane says.

The 25 Sexiest TV Scenes on Premium Cable of the Last 25 Years

21 September 2017 12:45 PM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

In the days before premium cable, television was a squeaky-clean place for the most part. The traditional networks rarely dared to push boundaries when it came to graphic sexual content for fear of pissing off advertisers. (And when they did, as with ABC’s “NYPD Blue,” affiliates and advertisers did indeed balk on cue.)

But then came HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, and a slew of other networks, which asked for a little extra subscriber cash, but offered in exchange unfiltered violence, language, and sex. Without that creative freedom, it’s doubtful that television as a storytelling art form would have evolved in the same way, especially when it comes to sex — one of the most primal aspects of humanity that the broadcast networks kept behind closed doors for far too long.

Because different things are sexy to different people, this list is unranked — streaming platforms and ad-supported cable networks will be saved for future lists. »

Jessica Williams on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Jessica Williams’ star continues to ascend. Last month brought news that the “Daily Show” alumna’s podcast with Phoebe Robinson, “2 Dope Queens,” is being adapted by HBO, and now comes word that Williams is set to star in a new Showtime series. Deadline broke the story.

The comedy series, which the network scored “in a competitive situation,” sees Williams re-teaming with frequent collaborator Jim Strouse, who directed her in features “The Incredible Jessica James” and “People Places Things.” The pair will write and exec produce the as-yet untitled project that follows an aspiring science fiction writer (Williams) who lives in Brooklyn.

Williams made history as the youngest correspondent to ever join “The Daily Show.” She left the late-night series to pursue other projects in 2014. Her other credits include “Girls” and “Just for Kicks.”

“I’m turning down roles that don’t feel like they add to society,” Williams has said. “I don’t want it to feel like I’m doing something that’s really offensive that sets women back or sets black women back. If I feel that it sets women or black women back, it’s offensive to other people, I want no part of it.”

Ahmed said he’s sharing the award with costar John Turturro, whom he was up against in the category, and thanked the late James Gandolfini.

“I’m indebted to many people,” he said, listing Steve Zaillian, the show’s creator, director and executive producer, and writer Richard Price, among others.

“I want to say it is always strange reaping the rewards of a story based on real-world suffering, but if this show has shown a light on some of the prejudice in our societies, some of the injustice in our justice system, then maybe that is something,” he said.

The actor also gave a shout-out to South Asian Youth Action.

Rapper Tyler the Creator claimed that Zayn Malik flaked out on recording a song with him — twice.

Fun fact,” Tyler said on Twitter. “I wrote ‘see you again’ for zayn but that bitch flaked on studio time twice, so i kept the ref for myself, worked out actually.”

Tyler, 26, released “See You Again,” which features Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis, in July on his critically acclaimed fourth album, Flower Boy.

Although Tyler had been heavily criticized because some of his earlier releases used anti-gay slurs, Flower Boy contained some verses which suggested he had been with men in the past.
