Beyond Fright: Heist Gone Wrong Film 7 Minutes Gets Poster/Trailer/Release Date

5 hours ago | iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news »

I don’t know about you fright fanatics, but I’m a massive fan of heist films. Dog Day Afternoon, Heat, and every other great entry into what can easily be one of the best intense genres around if done right. One film that seems to be a good contender into that kind of movie is Jay Martin’s 7 Minutes (hitting Theaters, VOD & iTunes June 26) . Having cut his teeth being the storyboard artist on films like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Amazing Spiderman, I Am Legend, and Constantine, Martin made the transition to director, when helmed music videos for everyone from Cold War Kids and Deathcab For Cutie, to legendary rapper Nas.

It’s pretty obvious that Jay knows what he wants in front of the camera and how to get it and the heist film led by Luke Mitchell (TV’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L. »

Lena Dunham wants to “grow her armpit hair for summer”

12 hours ago | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Actress Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham wants to “grow her armpit hair for summer”.

The ‘Girls’ actress – who posted a ‘Summer to-do list’ on her Instagram page – has announced that she wants to go au-naturel for the summer months.

The 29-year-old blogger wrote on the list that she also wanted to fake tan her pale complexion, – but only “from the knees down” – meet ‘Take Care’ hitmaker Drake and get a compliment from him, do “loads of charity work” and also keep her “ovaries working smoothly”.

The comedy drama ‘Girls’ – which Lena created and wrote – has caused debates within feminism in the media in the past over whether women should drop the body hair.

The star has previously said that she doesn’t shave her legs as she feels there is not much hair on her legs to shave, so she can “get away with it”.

Lena opened up in her 2014 memoir »

This December, costume designer Michael Kaplan is set to add b to an impressive CV that includes the likes of Blade Runner, Se7en, Fight Club, Star Trek and Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and during an in depth interview with Vanity Fair, the BAFTA Award winner has spoken about his work on December’s hugely-anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“I went up to George Lucas’s archives—huge building—and just spent a day going through sketches and looking just to get the tone of the movie, you know, in my guts and veins so that when I went to London I felt equipped and inspired, which I certainly did,” states Kaplan when asked how he went about updating the look of the Original Trilogy costumes. “The old stormtroopers uniforms would not be usable. Audiences of today have become so sophisticated that a lot of things you could get away with in the past, »

Adam Driver Gets Maui Film Festival's Shining Star Award

21 May 2015 10:39 AM, PDT | Thompson on Hollywood | See recent Thompson on Hollywood news »

Adam Driver is a busy man. The tall, knobby, 31-year-old actor — and bit of a heartthrob — who broke out of HBO's "Girls" has a full plate, with "The Force Awakens" hitting in December and Martin Scorsese's "Silence" wrapped and ramped for 2016 release. This June, Driver will receive the Shining Star Award at the 16th annual Maui Film Festival, unfolding June 3-7 at the Wailea Resort in Maui. The prize "honors a film artist who dares to dream big dreams and delivers brilliantly charismatic and revelatory performances every time that opportunity knocks." A Juilliard alumnus, he recently nailed it clean as a cartoonishly hipster, moviemaking sycophant in Noah Baumbach's winsome "While We're Young." At Venice last year, he picked up the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for his performance in the tough domestic drama "Hungry Hearts," which IFC opens stateside June 5. To promote the release of his new movie Tomorrowland, writer Damon Lindelof (the man responsible for Lost, Star Trek Into Darkness and Prometheus) sat down with Flickering Myth’s Oli Davis, where they proceeded to talk about his new movie, but also the new Star Trek 3 film.

Lindelof produced the first two films in the relaunched franchise, writing the second instalment, but working on Tomorrowland and his HBO TV show The Leftovers meant he had to step away from the third. In the interview, Lindelof talks about what he knows of Star Trek 3’s story so far:

“It’s really about the beginning of the five year mission. It’s establishing the crew after they’ve been out there and together for a while. But I don’t know anything about the plot.”

Lawrence Kasdan teases Lando Calrissian for future Star Wars movies

19 May 2015 5:27 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Lawrence Kasdan (or Larry Kasdan as he’s often called) has been a part of the Star Wars universe for many years now, having written the scripts for The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and co-authoring Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the writer promised some exciting things coming from J.J. Abrams’ latest entry into the Star Wars series.

“It’s turned out really great,” he said. “J.J. directed it so beautifully, and it’s so exhilarating.”

Kasdan also revealed that the runtime of the movie will not be like most modern blockbusters. “One of the things that we always refocus on from the get-go was that it not be one of these very long, bloated blockbusters,” he says. “A lot of very entertaining movies lately are too long. Exclusive – Damon Lindelof: Working on Star Wars would be “a dream come true”

To promote the release of his new movie Tomorrowland, writer Damon Lindelof (the man responsible for Lost, Star Trek Into Darkness and Prometheus) sat down with Flickering Myth’s Oli Davis, where they proceeded to talk about his new movie, but also the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Trek 3 movies. Because they’re both pretty geeky (and one of them is best buds with Star Wars director J.J. Abrams).

While getting excited about the impending return of Luke, Leia and Han, Lindelof spoke about whether he would ever take on a Star Wars movie down the line:

“Obviously Star Wars really made me want to be a filmmaker, so the possibility that I could work on one of those films in the future would be truly a dream come true.”

How Amy Poehler Is Keeping Knope Alive With Her Role in Inside Out

Amy Poehler is obviously relishing in her first visit to the Cannes Film Festival, but don't suggest that just because she's known more for her sense of humor than her dramatic chops that she doesn't fully deserve to be here. A reporter at the official press conference for her new Pixar movie Inside Out learned that lesson yesterday afternoon. He asked if, as a comedic actor, she thought she'd ever have a film at Cannes. Amy looked a bit surprised before she answered: "Sure! Yeah, why not." She later elaborated: "I guess that comedy and drama - [which] this film is such an example of - they live so much together. Comedy makes you feel very big feelings." Critics have been lauding the latest Pixar offering's blend of humor and heart, making it one of the most well-received films on the Croisette this year - animated or not. Simon Pegg reveals that Daniel Craig is playing a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Way back in September it was reported that 007 Daniel Craig had shot a secret cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and it looks like Simon Pegg has let slip the Bond star’s role while deflecting questions about his own rumoured appearance in the hotly-anticipated Disney sequel.

During the London premiere of his new film Man Up, Pegg was asked about reports that he’ll feature in a minor role in The Force Awakens, replying that “I wasn’t a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper.” Pegg then attempted to retract his comments, adding “I shouldn’t have said that.”
