The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

10/10 The film is about a sexually obsessed man. Many scenes depict masterbation, Internet pornagrpahy and scenes of strong sexuality and nudity including a suggested scene of incest. The main charactor looks at women as sex objects and treats them as so. Near the end of the film the man subjects himself to oral sex with another man. Some scenes are only suggested and not shown while other scenes show a man having sex with women which is sexually graphic including frontal nudity. This is NC-17 for a reason and is not meant to be seen by minors.

Violence & Gore

6/10

A man is knocked onto the ground by another man, and is punched and kicked repeatedly. He is spat on, and has a visible bruise.

The aftermath of a suicide attempt in a bathroom is shown. The character's wrists have been slit and there is blood all over the bathroom. The scene doesn't show any detail of the attempt but will still be disturbing for many viewers, although the character survives.

Several verbal arguments which are often quite intense.

Profanity

9/10

60 uses of 'fuck' and 20 uses of 'shit'.

Much of the stronger language in the film is used in a volatile, aggressive context during arguments.

Detailed sexual dialogue throughout.

7/10

Social drinking and a few characters are noticeably drunk in a few scenes.

A man snorts a line of cocaine to reduce anxiety.

A man is asked if he wants to get high, but he does not do it.

9/10

The aftermath of a suicide attempt, which acts as a turning point in the film, will be disturbing for many viewers, but it comes late in the film.

The general tone of the film is grim and disquieting, but the people that are watching the film likely know this ahead of time.

The film doesn't pull any punches when it comes to its subject matter and thus will be very uncomfortable and probably even disturbing for many more sensitive viewers.

41/50 Not recommended to anyone under 17.
