Sex & Nudity

This movie is very graphic and completely concerned with a man's obsession with sex. The sexual acts are not portrayed as a loving exchange, but more an act of violence.

In the first ten minutes we see a man walking around completely nude (butt, genitals). He is shown repeatedly walking around his home and going to the washroom.

A man walks in on a woman in the shower, she is seen fully nude although her pubis hides her genitalia. This is a long shot, although for most of it she covers herself.

A man pays a prostitute, and tells her to strip slowly. She is fully undressed (genitalia slightly obscured) and she climbs on top of him.

A woman is seen with a transparent white top, showing the outline of her breasts and nipples.

A man and woman, clothed, have sex against a barrier outdoors. He thrusts vigorously, he kisses her and climaxes. This is a dark scene and not much is shown.

A man sees a couple having sex, fully nude, thrusting rapidly against a hotel window. Genitalia can be seen although it is very far away.

Pornographic magazines are seen in profile, as is a webcam show showing a woman stripping and talking dirty, and a man's hard drive is described as filthy.

A woman is overheard having sex with a married man, nothing shown, and the woman's brother hears this and becomes agitated.

A man undresses a woman (she is undressed from the waist up), they kiss and caress each other, and he is unable to perform.

A man thrusts into a woman vigorously from behind against a window, they are fully naked and he climaxes. (Not explicit).

A man describes what he would do to a woman graphically and briefly fingers her, in order to get her attention and start a fight with her companion (he gets punched and kicked several times as a result.)

A man walks in the back of a gay nightclub where several couples are seen in the background engaging in various acts (obscured), and a man makes out with another man and then has oral sex performed on him (nothing is shown), he moans and climaxes.

A man engages in a threesome with two women, shot in long takes in a close up shot, with him sucking on the woman's breasts and buttocks, kissing down their chests as the women pleasure each other and he thrusts vigorously from behind one of them until he climaxes.

Detailed sexual dialogue throughout.

A man is shown masturbating a few times (nothing explicit).

No penetration is shown, but the scenes are quite explicit, even though most of them are rather short in duration. All scenes are simulated.

Violence & Gore

A man is knocked onto the ground by another man, and is punched and kicked repeatedly. He is spat on, and has a visible bruise.

The aftermath of a suicide attempt in a bathroom is shown. The character's wrists have been slit and there is blood all over the bathroom. The scene doesn't show any detail of the attempt but will still be disturbing for many viewers, although the character survives.

Several verbal arguments which are often quite intense.

60 uses of 'fuck' and 20 uses of 'shit'.

Much of the stronger language in the film is used in a volatile, aggressive context during arguments.

Detailed sexual dialogue throughout.

Social drinking and a few characters are noticeably drunk in a few scenes.

A man snorts a line of cocaine to reduce anxiety.

A man is asked if he wants to get high, but he does not do it.

The aftermath of a suicide attempt, which acts as a turning point in the film, will be disturbing for many viewers, but it comes late in the film.

The general tone of the film is grim and disquieting, but the people that are watching the film likely know this ahead of time.

The film doesn't pull any punches when it comes to its subject matter and thus will be very uncomfortable and probably even disturbing for many more sensitive viewers.
