The tied best Spider-Man series of all time, and MUCH better than Spectacular Spider-Man
First of all....
i'm an actual intelligent, non-biased, hardcore Spider-Man fan and have
been since I was a kid when I was first introduced to the 90's
Spider-Man animated series. So by all accounts, I should have
absolutely HATED Ultimate Spider- Man for being totally different from
the incredible Spider-Man series I grew up with........guess again
Ultimate Spider-Man is tied as my absolute FAVORITE Spidey series ever.
Because, unlike most worryingly clueless, idiot crybabies you see
moaning around the internet, i'm actually mature enough to admit when a
NEW version of something does a bunch of stuff EVEN BETTER than the
ones that came before it, which USM does across the board.
The fantastic action scenes, the amazing world-building with its
endless cast of characters from the entire Marvel Universe, great
adaptions and new takes on tons of classic Spider-Man story arcs,
incredible animation in general, etc etc.
I've never been disappointed by this show, and that's coming from a
die-hard Spider-Man fan who would've been incredibly critical of this
show it if hadn't done justice to the Spider-Man legacy. But guess
what? That was never remotely an issue.
It's also leaps and bounds better than its incredibly average
predecessor Spectacular Spider-Man, which had an animation AND voice
acting style that felt like it belonged on Playhouse Disney. The other
huge weak point of that show was that its focus was on the ROMANTIC
RELATIONSHIP of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, something which every
loser nerd always complains about with literally EVERY OTHER superhero
TV show on today. Crybaby hypocrites much? HA!
To conclude, thanks to the Ultimate Spider-Man cast and crew for one of
the most memorable iterations of the greatest Marvel character of all
time. I can't wait to re-watch the whole series many more times in the
future ; )
