The movie is loosely based on the nursery rhyme "Solomon Grundy" published in 1842, the rhyme chronicles birth, life and death.
After shooting a 7 minute proof-of-concept film with the characters of the film, Mattson Tomlin raised a $15,000 budget to shoot the feature.
