Steve Lawrence And Dick Martin
Jimmy_the_Gent410 March 2022
A pretty good episode. A short Q&A, Carol tries to do the Tarzan yell but the sound man plays the Johnny Weismuller original.

The first sketch is Carol and Vicki as rival airline ticket agents, trying to sell to passenger Dick Martin. They give him lots of booze, getting him drunk and offering more and more to him.

Steve Lawrence sings the Stephen Sondheim song "Losing My Mind".

Washington Report is a short sketch on just Vicki and Steve. She plays a reporter and he is a presidential advisor who acts like Groucho Marx.

As The Stomach Turns has Marian finding out her future from a fortune teller, played by Vivian Bonnell, who did many guest appearances on other shows like "The Odd Couple" and "Sanford And Son". She has some funny lines. Vicki is the long lost daughter, Dick is a gigolo, Harvey is Mayor Snorty.

Next is a tribute to Oscar winning films. "Some Like It Hot' has Dick in drag. "Tea and Sympathy" has Dick as the sensitive young man and Vicki as the older woman.

Carol and Steve sing some Oscar nominated songs like Tender Trap. I've Got You Under My Skin, Carol hits a funny high note on Something's Got To Give.

The first Nora Desmond sketch has Steve in the William Holden role. Her first words are in a funny squeaky voice but reverts to her normal one.

A salute to Disney has some people in 7 Dwarfs costumes, with Harvey as Mickey Mouse, Vicki as Snow White, Steve as Pinocchio, Dick as Prince Charming and Carol flying around as Peter Pan.

Carol plugs 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks" and sings her theme and the guests (including Bonnell) sign her book.
