Aptly titled, "Dan on the Run" finds Stark on the lam after the governor's son (the same one he saved back in the '80s) is once again held hostage in a fake kidnapping - one that frames him in the process. Ethan Suplee guest stars as the now grown-up pothead kidnapee, a good choice for what is essentially a blubbering man-child. The downside to this episode is that during his scenes, it really does feel like an action-packed episode of "My Name is Earl.
The bright side, on the other hand, is that Stark is forced to take refuge from the cops in the home of his former partner. That's right, we finally get to meet Frank Savage (the very well-cast Gary Cole), now languishing in golf clothes in suburbia with his henpecking wife. With Dan back in the bloodstream, the cop sunglasses and .44 magnum are unboxed, and the two are back in action.
