Writer-Director Jamie Linden Talks 10 Years, Paramount’s The Flight Before Christmas, The Testament, Dogs Of Babel and More

14 September 2012 9:57 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

The ensemble comedy 10 Years follows a group of friends, many of whom haven’t seen each other in quite some time, on the night of their high school reunion.  Jake (Channing Tatum) is deeply in love with his girlfriend (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) but runs into his high school flame (Rosario Dawson) for the first time in years; jock Cully (Chris Pratt) married cheerleader Sam (Ari Graynor) but is still haunted by all the classmates he bullied; longtime rivals Marty (Justin Long) and A.J. (Max Minghella) are still competing to impress the hottest girl in class (Lynn Collins); and rock star Reeves (Oscar Isaac) is still too shy to talk to his high school crush Elise (Kate Mara), except through song.  The film also stars Brian Geraghty, Ron Livingston, Anthony Mackie, Aubrey Plaza, Scott Porter, Aaron Yoo and Nick Zano. 5 Actors Who Could Play Marvel's 'Black Panther'

6 June 2012 8:19 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

For all their success so far, the Marvel movies have, aside from a few smallish parts, been a pretty lilywhite affair to date: only Samuel L. Jackson was a significant minority presence in "The Avengers." But signs are that the studio aren't going to keep that up for too long: yesterday, it was reported that the company are actively moving ahead with a movie about "Black Panther," the African prince-turned-crimefighter, and are targeting a release in 2014 or 2015.

Marvel has denied the reports, but this wouldn't be the first time they've denied something that turned out to be bang-on, and Latino Review's track record with Marvel scoops is pretty strong, so it seems to be a good bet that there'll be an official announcement about a "Black Panther" movie before too long. Which of course leads to the question: Who could play the character?

For the uninitiated, Black Panther is T'Challa, »

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are expecting their first child. The couple married back in 2009 and have been talking about having a family for some time. According to People, Faris says that Pratt wanted to have a family in the near future.

"Chris wants a big family," Faris tells the site of her "Parks and Recreation" star husband. She'll be seen next with Sacha Baron Cohen in "The Dictator" and is filming "I Give it a Year" in London at the moment. Pratt is working on "Zero Dark Thirty" and will appear in "Ten Year" in September.

This is the first child for both Pratt and Faris. We wish them both the best. They'd better start booking auditions now because that child is going to be the king or queen of comedy with parents like that! »

The timing is right: Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are going to be parents!

The Dictator actress, 35, and her Parks and Recreation star husband, 32, are expecting their first child this fall, her rep tells People exclusively.

After tying the knot in 2009, the couple were open about their dreams of a large family, but admitted the timing was “so hard in this industry.”

Still, The Five Year Engagement actor made it clear he was ready to fall into fatherhood sooner rather than later. “Chris wants a big family,” Faris told People.

'Hurt Locker' Star Brian Geraghty To Climb 'Kilimanjaro'

27 April 2012 9:20 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

After a break-out turn in Kathryn Bigelow's "The Hurt Locker," where he went toe-to-toe with Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty hasn't exactly risen at the same trajectory as his two former co-stars; his most high-profile roles to date are in the yet-be-released ensemble rom-com "Ten Year" and the universally-panned horror flick "Atm."

We certainly had high hopes for the young actor, even championing him for the lead in 'Captain America' when that role was up for grabs. On the horizon, he has a supporting turn in Robert Zemeckis' "Flight," which should prove another opportunity for him to shine, and the actor remains prominent in the indie scene with a handful of films, including two from helmer Chris Nelson (the classily titled double of "Gay Dude" & "Ass Backwards") and a starring role opposite Krysten Ritter in "Refuge."

Geraghty will now add another interesting string to his bow »

Oscar Isaac Joins Elizabeth Olsen and Tom Felton for Therese Raquin

26 March 2012 11:00 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Oscar Isaac made a big name for himself last year with his brilliant performance as Standard in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive, and this year should see him rise to even greater (and much deserved) recognition.

With a slew of upcoming roles in various stages of completion, post-production, and filming, word now comes via Deadline that Isaac has joined as one of the leads in Charlie Stratton’s Therese Raquin, adapting Emile Zola’s original 19th century novel.

*Spoiler alert: If you don’t want to know anything about this film, look away now, because I’m about to give you the plot synopsis for the novel, via Waterstones*

“Set in the claustrophobic atmosphere of a dingy haberdasher’s shop in the passage du Pont-Neuf in Paris, this powerful novel tells how the heroine and her lover, Laurent, kill her husband, Camille, but are subsequently haunted by visions of the »

Oscar Isaac Joins Therese Opposite Elizabeth Olsen

24 March 2012 5:00 PM, PDT | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Oscar Isaac (Drive, Sucker Punch) has joined the cast of Therese. Deadline reports that the actor will star opposite Elizabeth Olsen, Jessica Lange, and Tom Felton in the drama. Olsen plays Therese, "a woman trapped in a loveless marriage to her sickly first cousin, Camille (Felton), and living with his mother (Lange). She begins an illicit love affair with Camille’s friend Laurent (Isaac), which leads to a tragic outcome for all three." The film is based on the Emile Zola novel Therese Raquin. Charlie Stratton adapted the book and will direct.

Isaac just wrapped the Coen Brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis. He next stars in The Bourne Legacy, and Ten Year, an ensemble cast that includes Channing Tatum and Anthony Mackie. Isaac was good in Drive and I am looking forward to seeing him in Bourne Legacy.

Do you think that this sounds like a good role for Isaac?

Oscar Isaac Will Romance and Ruin Elizabeth Olsen in ‘Therese’

23 March 2012 2:27 PM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Up-and-coming actor Oscar Isaac seems determined to round out his slate with interesting and very different roles – after both his solid work in Drive and turning in the best performance in the blood-and-trash-splattered trainwreck that was Sucker Punch, we will next see him starring in the Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis, The Bourne Legacy, and Ten Year. Past that, he will now reportedly star in Charlie Stratton’s Therese. The film, previously known as Therese Raquin (it appears that the title has been officially changed or everyone over at Deadline Orleans is too lazy to type it out completely), is based on the Emile Zola novel and play of the same name, and will star Elizabeth Olsen in the eponymous role. Set in the late 1800s, the film centers on Therese and the loveless marriage she’s been forced into with her sickly mama’s boy of a cousin, Camille (Tom Felton). Her overbearing aunt (Jessica Lange) is »

Olsen plays the title character, who is trapped in a loveless marriage to her sickly first cousin, Camille (Felton), and living with his mother (Lange). She begins an illicit love affair with Camille’s friend Laurent, which leads to a tragic outcome for all three. Isaac will play that role. Charlie Stratton adapted the Emile Zola novel Therese Raquin, and will direct. It’s being produced and will be distributed by Ld Entertainment, with William Horberg and Mickey Liddell are producing. Though his character had an early exit in the Nic Refn-directed Drive, Isaac just played the lead in Inside Llewyn Davis, the film directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. ‘Prometheus’ Goes Big; ‘Les Miserables’ Moves Back; ‘Ten Year’ Hits In Fall

8 March 2012 4:36 PM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

Funny how a minor update can be so… big. Am I right, or what?

That half-baked stab at humor entirely notwithstanding, it’s been announced that Prometheus will be hitting IMAX 3D screens on its originally-scheduled normal date of June 8th, thanks to Fox’s “proprietary IMAX Dmr” digital remastering system. It’s still the movie we’ve told you about at great length; still directed by Ridley Scott; still led by Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce Charlize Theron, and Idris Elba; and still a prequel to Alien. [Deadline]

Moving onward, Exhibitor Relations tells us that Tom Hooper‘s Les Miserables will be hitting us one week later than expected, having moved from December 7th to December 14th. A very odd choice on Universal’s part; nothing was opening wide on that date (the only December 7th title, as of now, is Hyde Park on Hudson), but December 14th presents »

'Les Miserables' Moves To Dec. 14th; 'Ten Year' Arrives Sept. 21st & 'Halloween 3D' Gets Taken Off The Calendar

8 March 2012 2:41 PM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

A few changes on the calendar, so get out those dry-erase markers. First up, while every studio has been tiptoeing around "The Hobbit" and its mid-December release date, Universal has finally grabbed their nutsack and said "Fuck that," moving their star-powered musical "Les Miserables" back a week to December 14th. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Gandalf! Starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Sacha Baron Cohen, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter and more, not only does this have the red carpet appeal of an awards season player, it also has the Broadway history to make mad box office bling. That pic of Crowe up there isn't an official still, but holy shit we wish it was.

Meanwhile, Anchor Bay has finally set a date for the ensemble dramedy "Ten Year," placing it on September 21st, pretty much a full year after it bowed at Tiff. Starring Channing Tatum, »

It's 'Pain And Gain' For Anthony Mackie As He Joins Michael Bay's Crime Caper

23 February 2012 8:08 AM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

While Anthony Mackie might not be a household name just yet, should his star continue to rise, it won't be long before that happens. The talented actor broke through with "The Hurt Locker," but savvy filmgoers already knew he was something special if they caught him in "8 Mile" or "Half Nelson." Since then, he's become one of those actors who elevates a film by his mere presence (he's pretty much the only thing worth watching in "Real Steel") and it's no suprise he's getting snapped up for films left and right. With "Ten Year," "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" and "Gangster Squad" on the way this year, Mackie has added another gig to his plate. Michael Bay has signed the actor to his non-robots crime caper "Pain And Gain." Mackie joins a pretty solid cast of Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Ed Harris and Rob Corddry, in the based-on-a-true-story tale about a couple of Floridian. »
