In this case reading the review is probably bad idea. As expected sides are totally against each other and movie as art product is totally ignored and pushed a side. I guess that was expected but again it is a bit annoying for a random viewer. Fact is that this movie has strong footwhole in propaganda against Serbians or politics of some kind (Intrest of politicians is often not so straightforward as it seems) When you see the true number of casualties in the war (in the world recognized organisation and historical facts) and compare it with those one said in the movie all propaganda game is more or less completely obvious. But, that said, i got a say... : So what?! i get the injured pride but this is Hollywood. hidden agenda or open one is practically in 95% of the movies. This is not some amateur home video set, it's a multi-billion dollars industry in the country that has several wars in progress, few in plan and god knows how much in last 50 years. Did you expect anything different?! Do you expect that somebody else if they ware in their shoes would do something else? It is multimedia war and its well known fact.

Now movie as a movie can not be totally awful because of the compressed number of very intense subjects. Rape, war, killings, love... It is moving and had to make you think and consider some feelings and actions in humans. For me its too much compressed with violence and not because of art but because of propaganda tricks and desire of the newcomer to express too much in so little time. If we know that this is Angelinas first movie it is not surprising. Too serious subjects for a first movie if you ask me. She took more then she can chew. Cought in between own desires for self proving and pleasing agendas from the shadows, although she worked really hard she failed to present quality product. And i think in both directions.

As propaganda tricks problem is that movie is not commercial inaf and also lack a quality touch of a hight budget. On top of that you can feel the try to wrappearound artistic aspect and in can not be mixed in all this ways.

As a true movie, the thems and ideas are good. Better then good. But to be honest you don't go and build a bridge just because its a good idea. Just because you walked so many bridges it doesn't make you an experts. Experts are there and they are doing their job.

To sum up Too sensitive, too big, too piled up for a first timer...
