Bloody-Disgusting reports that Lionsgate's "Saw: Legacy" will begin principal photography in Toronto, Canada this September. The last we heard about the project was that screenwriters Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger were writing the script. The writing duo previously scripted "Piranha 3D", "Piranha 3Dd", and "Sorority Row."
Original "Saw" director James Wan and producer Leigh Whannell are listed as executive producers on the project. This is the eighth film in the popular franchise which began with the first film in 2004.

David Hasselhoff is eager to be welcomed on American shores.
The actor has found much success overseas over the years, most recently exec producing and starring in the U.K. stage musical “Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life,” which ran through February. But now he wants to come home.
“I’ve been over there too long,” said the man best known in the States, perhaps, for his turns on the U.S. TV series “Baywatch” and “Knight Rider.” “I’m happy to go where the sun is shining or the snow is falling, but I’ve had it with the rain over in the U.K.,” he said in an interview, after taking part in a session for the new “Baywatch” movie slated to debut in 2017.

Today, we received a press release that a new movie titled Runaway is now shooting in Oklahoma City under the direction of John Gulager, the madman who gave us the Feast trilogy and Piranha 3Dd. The news does not mention that this thriller is actually Children of the Corn: Runaway, the 10th film in that long-running horror series. Here is the official press release unaltered. The official Runaway press release: The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (Of+Mo), with producer Mike Leahy of Strike Accord and in association with Gatlin Returns, Inc., is pleased to announce the beginning of principal photography on Runaway. The film, which will utilize the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate administered by Of+Mo, will be shooting in Oklahoma City and the surrounding area including Luther and Coyle.

An eighth Saw movie is in the works. According to reports, Lionsgate has hired writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger (Sorority Row, Piranha 3D and Piranha 3Dd) to pen the new film. It isn;t known if it will be a sequel or reboot, but the word around Hollywood is that it will be called Saw: Legacy.
The Saw movies have been hugely popular since the first film arrived back in 2004. The film and its six sequels have grossed a total of $870 million at the global box-office – all from relatively low budgets.
The story revolves around the character of Jigsaw, a clearly disturbed individual who sets traps and elaborate games for his victims. Over the years, the films have become known for their huge twists as each film climaxes.
