Storyline

Danny can't even get his busted knee properly treated after Steve's last stunts, being dragged along to chase violent repeat-offender Walton Dawkins, who escaped violently after watching a TV program about 'hoale' (mainlander) Dana Thorpe winning a Hawaiian holiday and $1,000,000. Steve's super-bratty sister Mary Ann has to wait, locked in his office with 'babysitters'. Instead of Dana, Dawkins kidnaps her boyfriend Craig Ellers, which turns out to be the fake identity of ex-con Paul Stark. The chase involves more violent crime. Written by KGF Vissers

Goofs

In the scene where Dawkins is fleeing in the car after shooting Craig at the bank, we see him driving toward the airport early in the morning. The scene briefly flashes back to Dawkins in the car. When the camera turns back to the road, it's obvious that Dawkins is suddenly on a completely different stretch of road much later in the day. See more »

Quotes

Doctor Teddy Oh: I was thinking more about a physical injury.
Danny 'Danno' Williams: No. No. This - this guy is like a physical injury, Doc. Ten minutes after meeting him, I get shot and blasted through a window, okay? A few hours after that, he drives a car, I'm not joking, onto a deck of a Chinese Freight ship. And yes, I was in it. The car, not the ship.
Doctor Teddy Oh: He drove a car onto a boat?
Danny 'Danno' Williams: Yeah. He's an animal. And I sort of get the feeling that he's just getting warmed up.
Doctor Teddy Oh: Ouch.
Danny 'Danno' Williams: So how do I fix it?
Doctor Teddy Oh: You get a new partner.

The Human Element Is Shown in Episode 3 ***1/2
5 October 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

With fighting gangs surfacing in Hawaii, Danno's estranged wife has threatened to take him to court to get rid of his visitation rights? Why? When Danno talk his daughter to a football game, gunfire erupted between rival gangs. Imagine blaming him for this? No wonder they've yet to show this shrew.

In addition our oriental police officer has a fat relative who he let slide during the gunfire mêlée. Turns out that the heavy one is an undercover officer investigating gangs in Hawaii. This guy even suggests that our Asian friend is a dirty officer.

Everything seems to be coming from N.J. This is especially when Salvo comes to town. The breaking up of Salvo and his group is rather routine, but not exactly boring.

First episode where McGarrett has not told Danno to book the bad guys. Seems like a thaw is beginning to come about in the estranged relationship between our 2 fearless gentlemen.
