Tupac Biopic 'All Eyez on Me' Adds 'Walking Dead' Cast Member

Tupac Biopic 'All Eyez on Me' Adds 'Walking Dead' Cast Member
Earlier this week, we reported that The Walking Dead star Danai Gurira signed on to join the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me, portraying the rapper/actor's mother, Afeni Shakur. Today, Deadline reports that she will be joined by another one of her Walking Dead co-stars, Lauren Cohan. The actress will be portraying Leila Steinberg, who would become an important part of Tupac Shakur's life.

Leila Steinberg was just 25 when she met the then 17-year-old Tupac Shakur, after he came to one of her workshops where she mentors young kids to use their talent in hopes of making their lives better. They became instant friends, and the rapper even mentored her on how to become a business manager as he rose through the rap music ranks. Steinberg still mentors kids today, who come from both impoverished backgrounds and affluent lifestyles, through an organization entitled Aim4TheHeart.org.

Tupac Movie Gets 'Vampire Diaries' Star as Jada Pinkett Smith

Tupac Movie Gets 'Vampire Diaries' Star as Jada Pinkett Smith
After several years of delays, the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me finally started production last month, with newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. starring as the late rapper. The supporting cast is now starting to come together, with Deadline reporting that The Walking Dead star Danai Gurira has come aboard to play Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur. Variety also reports that Katerina Graham has joined the cast to play Jada Pinkett Smith.

We reported last month that Benny Boom (Next Day Air) had signed on to direct, and that the production needed to get started by the end of 2015, or else production company Morgan Creek would lose Tupac Shakur's music rights, which will revert back to his mother, Afeni Shakur. Principal photography got started at the end of December, with Afeni Shakur herself on board as executive producer. Afeni Shakur is a political activist and an active member of the Black Panther party,

Gang Related TV Review – Fox

The relevant recommendation for Fox‘s new series, Gang Related, may begin and end with the knowledge that it is created/written by Chris Morgan. If the writing abilities that brought you the last five Fast & Furious films, Wanted, and 47 Ronin has left you impressed, you’re all set. Lock in to your new favorite show now.

If that fact alone doesn’t mean much to you, the show obligingly lays all its cards on the table in the first fifteen minutes of the pilot. You only have to invest that amount of time to know exactly what’s coming your way, I imagine for the entirety of the show’s run, but at least for the first few episodes. The show, and you have to give it some credit really, puts it out there and says, “Look, you’re in, or you’re out.”

In one of the quickest

Fox 2013-2014 Full Schedule Preview With Trailers And Images

Fox has one of its better slates coming your way with the new season, especially if you take the midseason shows into account. Some of these shows may not jump out at you now as must-see, but some of them are going to take over, if I’m any judge anyway.

Clear showcase offerings Dads, Almost Human, and Us & Them are guaranteed to take off early. Almost Human has J.J. Abrams recognition to pull people in, though it looks to be a show that could flounder after a few episodes, even if I hope it doesn’t. The other two are going to become hits. Unfortunately, we have to wait until mid-season for the Gavin & Stacey remake.

Rake also looks like a winner, as long as the translation can be made to work as an Americanized product, and the show actually delivers what made the Australian original so brilliant.

Meeting Evil Trailer Starring Luke Wilson and Samuel L. Jackson

It used to be that when an actor stopped landing roles in theatrical releases and crossed over into direct-to-video territory, it meant that their career was in serious trouble. In recent years, however, a new middle ground has emerged, thanks to the rise of video-on-demand. More and more often we're seeing actors take chances on low budget independent and/or genre films that are still somewhat respectable, and their reputation does not necessarily have to suffer. Luke Wilson seems to be getting quite comfortable with this middle ground, and his latest film Meeting Evil falls into that category as well. Wilson plays a surburban family man in search of something more in his life. When he meets a mysterious stranger (Samuel L. Jackson), he soon finds himself being pulled into a "surreal, nightmarish murder spree" against his will. The movie is directed by Chris Fisher, who previously did the Dtv

Top 10: Ray Liotta’s most memorable roles

With Street Kings 2: Motor City out on DVD this week (review here), which stars Ray Liotta and Shawn Hatosy as a pair of detectives investigating a spate of cop killings, we thought we’d take a look at star Ray Liotta’s most memorable roles on both the big, and small screen. So here it is, our Top 10 most memorable Ray Liotta roles…

10) Turbulence

A film that makes the list purely because of the insane performances of everyone involved, none more so than Ray Liotta as Ryan Weaver a murderer who is part of a Christmas Eve transfer of prisoners on a transcontinental 747 commercial flight. Of course once the aircraft takes off Liotta and his motley crew hijack the plane, with only stewardess Terri Halloran (Lauren Holly) to stop them And land the plane!

9) Hannibal

Another Liotta flick that only makes the list beacuse of it’s sheer ridiculousness

“Marty Kingston is an undercover narcotics detective who is shot and barely survives a drug bust gone wrong to save the life of his partner. When his partner is killed by a masked gunman four years later, Marty must team up with hothead homicide detective Dan Sullivan to investigate a string of brutal cop murders and hunt down the cop killer. The investigation that ensues is shrouded in deception and loaded with plot twists that question the line between the rules of law and justice.”
