‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’ Team Teases a Sexy and True Broadway Adaptation (Exclusive)
Pretty Woman is headed to Broadway -- and the cast and crew promise the musical adaptation will feature everything that fans love about the iconic 1990 romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

“I don't want to give away too much, but I think all the standards are there. I watched the film the other night for just a reference point and I was like, we got that; we got that. There are those moments that you have to have,” Steven Kazee teases to Et at Garry Marshall Theatre's First Annual Founders Gala. “What we're trying to do is tell the story in the same way to a new audience. We just want to try to be as true to the story as possible.”

The movie-turned-musical about a prostitute and a wealthy businessman who fall in love with each other is set to open on Broadway in the fall of 2018 following a five-week engagement at the Oriental

Hugh Jackman And Zac Efron Dance Their Way Through The Greatest Showman Trailer

It’s no secret that La La Land reignited Hollywood’s hunger for a modern musical, and that’s despite the fact that Damien Chazelle’s dreamy love story was piped at the post by Moonlight in spectacular fashion during February’s Oscar ceremony.

Perhaps more than anything else, La La Land stands as concrete proof that a modern-day musical is not only economically feasible, but also has the chance to become a critical and commercial hit – in the right hands, of course – and one director stepping up to the plate later this year is Michael Gracey.

His movie? The Greatest Showman, an original drama which looks to chronicle the remarkable rags-to-riches story of P.T. Barnum, who is often credited as the founding father of show business. Trading mutants for musicals is Logan actor Hugh Jackman, who calls upon his Les Misérables experience in today’s brand new trailer for the pic.

Michael Fassbender Tracks Down a Killer in New Trailer for Tomas Alfredson’s ‘The Snowman’

After Let the Right One In led to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Tomas Alfredson could have easily continued down a trajectory that saw him take on more prestigious awards season fare. Thankfully, he seems to be defiantly bypassing that entirely with The Snowman, which looks to be a shlocky, rancorous crime drama, I noted in our fall preview. Starring Michael Fassbender and Rebecca Ferguson as their characters uncover clues leading them to a serial killer, hopefully Alfredson’s distinctive formal style is on full display for this grim-looking procedural.

Ahead of a release next month, a new international trailer has landed for the thriller. Also starring Chloë Sevigny, Charlotte Gainsbourg, J.K. Simmons, Val Kilmer, James D’Arcy, and Toby Jones, this one seems to be skipping the fall festival circuit entirely, but nonetheless I’m still looking forward to whatever Alfredson has in store. Check out the trailer below, along with a new poster.
