The con boy network
1 October 2013 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Blat is a Russian word which means getting results via informal agreements, black market contacts, old boy network type of thing. There is no exact English equivalent of the word.

The writers of Blat came up with this BBC television comedy drama that involves an Italian/Russian mobster who attempts a slick financial scheme and give the villainous Robert Hardy his comeuppance.

A forgotten drama, it was only shown by the BBC once. Alfred Molina plays the star of this one off drama when he was deemed to be a rising star and was attempting step out from playing rather oily villains and brings a lot of gravitas whilst Hardy is hiss-able.
