Remember when there were rumors that Battlestar Galactica:  Blood and Chrome was under consideration to be upgraded from webisode format to full-blown series?  Well the fact that it didn't happen means nothing in weighing the success or failure of BSG: B&C, according to David Eick.  "I'm so happy to have such a great and comprehensive [...]

‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome’ Web Series Online: Adama’s First War

9 November 2012 4:07 PM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Following the cancellation of the Battlestar Galactica spinoff, Caprica, series alums Michael Taylor and David Eick began developing a “mequel” series – based on the first phase of humanity’s war with the Cyclons. Unfortunately, Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome was not picked up by SyFy as a regular series – who decided to split up the 2-hour pilot episode into ten online web series installments as well as an eventual DVD and Blu-ray release.

Now, we’ve got our first look at Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome – as the first two episodes are available to watch online.

In spite of a complicated sci-fi premise, and plenty of philosophical rumination, Ronald D. Moore’s re-imagined Battlestar Galactica managed to draw in a surprisingly diverse range of viewers. Similar to ...

Battlestar Galactica ‘Blood And Chrome’ Debuts; Machinima Expects It “To Do Extremely Well”

9 November 2012 11:37 AM, PST | Tubefilter.com | See recent Tubefilter News news »

Earlier this week, Machinima announced that the long-awaited Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome prequel series had finally found a home on Machinima Prime. The first two episodes of the series have premiered on the YouTube Original Channel, and as with previous SyFy Digital productions, they are of extremely high quality. A Machinima rep explained the process by which the gaming network gained distribution rights for Blood and Chrome. "The series came up after a marketing discussion with Syfy about their current series and a simultaneous discussion with Ucp about how to partner together on big opportunities. Battlestar came up as a perfect opportunity." The series is being released two episodes at a time; therefore, the entirety of Blood and Chrome will be released over the course of five weeks, the same length of time over which Machinima released Halo: Forward Unto Dawn. The first episode features a young William Adama, »

But before any of that there's a lightning round inspired by (what else?) Skyfall, plus tidbits, in which David talks intelligently about porn (really!), Patches falls for the Jack Black film Bernie, Da7e fills us in on the strange fate of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, and Katey catches up with the heartbreaking documentary How To Survive A Plague. Syfy has released the first two approximately 11-minute episode of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome via Machinima's Prime YouTube channel. You can watch both of them streaming below.

The first two episodes of Syfy's prequel pilot not ordered to series introduces William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), an ensign and hotshot Viper pilot assigned to the Battlestar Galactica. Upon arrival he meets up with the ship's admiral and is sent on a "milk run" in an old beat up Raptor ship with a substance abusing co-pilot and unexpected female civilian passenger. As Adama quickly discovers, there is more to their orders than meets the eye.

Luke Pasqualino may not be a spitting image of Edward James Olmos, the elder Adama and eventual Galactica commander. He does carries himself well as a pilot with a big head, thus earning the call sign "Husker" that will eventually be printed on the side of his Viper. »

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, the Syfy pilot for a Galactica prequel series that was not picked up, will begin its monthlong web debut via Machinima's Prime YouTube channel tomorrow. The uncut version won't make its debut until February 19, 2013, the release date for Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome on Blu-ray and DVD.

The Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome Blu-ray edition will be presented in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-hd Master Audio. It will be unrated and run 1 hour 34 minutes. Unfortunately we do not know how long the edited version coming to Machinima is or I would be able to tell you how many minutes have been tacked on for home video. My guess is one or two at most.

It doesn't look like Universal will be packing any bonus features into the Blu-ray release of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome. They will, however, include the pilot on DVD, digital copy and »

‘Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome’ Web Series to Premiere on Nov. 9th

6 November 2012 4:49 PM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Three years have passed since Syfy’s enormously successful Battlestar Galactica remake wrapped up its run. Since then, the network has twice attempted to maintain the space drama’s cultural cache – once with the short-lived Caprica and then with Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome.

Announced during Caprica‘s flagging run, Blood and Chrome was originally developed as a full series like its predecessor. Eventually, Syfy decided to pass on airing the spinoff. NBC Universal subsequently arranged for the series to be shown as a Web series, with the possibility of a television premiere at a future date. After a long and tumultuous production, the space opera will finally begin showing episodes later this week.

EW reports that Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome will premiere its first episode in just a few short days. On Friday, November 9, the first installment of ...

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome Part 1 Premiere This Friday; New Trailer Deploys

5 November 2012 8:10 PM, PST | TheHDRoom | See recent TheHDRoom news »

Syfy has finally figured out what to do with Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, the Battlestar Galactica prequel pilot completed over a year ago that was passed up in a bid to go to series. Frankly their "plan" has caught everyone off guard much like the Cylons did the colonials upon their violent return - but in a good way.

The good news is we will get our first look at part of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome this Friday, November 9, via online streaming at Machinima Prime. The plan is for Machinima Prime, Machinima's YouTube channel geared toward the prime Battlestar Galactica young male demo, to release the pilot in 7 to 12 minute segments over the next four weeks. So Merry Christmas, Battlestar Galactica fans. Blood and Chrome will be fully delivered as a web series before Saint Nick comes to town.
