Elijah Wood's favorite film is Harvey (1950), which is about a man who is best friends with an invisible, 6 foot tall rabbit named Harvey that only he can see.
On its premiere became the highest ranking debut sitcom ever for FX Networks.
The main theme of Wilfred is composed by Jim Dooley. He chose to use broken and out of tune musical instruments as well as children and dog toys to help compose the melody. Jim received a nomination at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) in 2011 for Best Original Score for his use of unconventional devises.
First TV series on national television to actually be shot full-time with HD-DSLRs.
Wilfred's Executive Producer and writer David Zuckerman was nominated for scribing "Identity" at the PAAFTJ Awards. (Pan-American Association of Film and Television Journalists) in 2011. Cinematographer Brad Lipson won at the same awards for his visual work on "Anger."
Mary Steenburgen (Catherine) and Dwight Yoakam (Bruce) were both recasted after season 3.
