Storyline

Lance Preston and the crew of "Grave Encounters", a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena have been reported for years. All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera. They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted - it is alive - and it has no intention of ever letting them leave. They find themselves lost in a labyrinth maze of endless hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the former patients. They soon begin to question their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of madness, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital's dark past...and taping what turns out to be their final episode.

In Dr. Arthur Friedkin's room, there is a book on a table; the book is just one page of runes that is repeated. The runes in the book are an old script used by the Norse (Vikings). The runes can be translated directly into the English language, and the words clearly read out a parody of "I've learned" written by an unknown author. The parody reads as follows: "Steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades, and there had better be a lot of money to take its place. Great horror flick

I was sceptical before i saw this movie, it represents a team of show makers who are sleeping in a supposedly haunted house. They act very poorly and unconvincingly as show hosts, but once the scary stuff starts, their acting becomes really believable, i mean, REALLY.

The movie starts out slow, the first 1/3th or 1/4th is just plain talking and normal stuff, so it can be a little boring, but after that, the movie takes an entire new turn. Please do yourself a favor and watch through the first 1/3, which is the boring tough part, you will reap the rewards later.

Its a very good movie, well worth a watch.
