Kate Beckinsale starred as the vampire "death dealer" Selene in the first Underworld, which debuted in 2003 and followed the war between the vampires and their sworn enemies, the lycans, a.k.a. werewolves.
The actress returned for the sequel Underworld: Evolution in 2006, although she did not star in the 2009 prequel Underworld 3: The Rise of The Lycans, which featured Michael Sheen and Rhona Mitra. 2012's Underworld Awakening was the final feature within the franchise, which has earned $458.2 million worldwide through all four movies.
Earth to Echo, director Dave Green and writer Henry Gayden’s heartwarming sci-fi adventure about friendship and extraterrestrial encounters, takes a refreshing narrative approach inspired by today’s generation of Diy storytellers. When three close friends – Tuck (Brian “Astro” Bradley), Munch (Reese Hartwig) and Alex (Teo Halm) – start to receive strangely coded messages on their cell phones just as their small Nevada suburb is about to be demolished to make way for a new highway, they embark on one last thrill together and document their adventure as it unfolds. Opening July 2nd, the PG-rated film also features Ella Linnea Wahlestedt. In an exclusive interview, Green and Gayden talked about the challenges of capturing a young audience’s attention in today’s world of superheroes and tech savvy storytelling, the film’s roots in the found footage genre, the decision to tell the story from Tuck’s perspective, how they found »

Idw has announced that they will launch a Rot & Ruin comic book series this September, taking us back to the zombie-filled world of Jonathan Maberry’s Rot & Ruin novels:
“San Diego, CA (May 29, 2014) – Idw and multiple Bram Stoker award-winning author, Jonathan Maberry bring the untold stories from the zombie post-apocalyptic world of Rot & Ruin to comic books this September.
This all-new series is set in a world fifteen years after the dead have risen and vastly outnumber the survivors of the zombie-apocalypse. In the aftermath, humanity has found a way to live a marginal existence by forming fenced-in towns where everyone has a job to do in order to survive. As in the award-winning novels, the comic series will center on Benny Imura and his friends as they make their way in a world where the zombies aren’t always the greatest danger.

Our summers are now set. Yes, we have great movies and TV headed our way, but what to do in between? Search for the truth as Mulder or Scully with The X-Files Big Box Board Game! Idw today announced the game and its July release, hopefully meaning July 1 but perhaps meaning during Comic-Con, which begins July 23.
One of my favorite things about it? “The X-Files board game will focus heavily on material from the first three seasons of the television series, giving fans a chance to start from the beginning of the phenomenon.” Another favorite thing is the fact that one player gets to be The Smoking Man. Bring It.

This is great news on all sorts of levels. Today Idw has announced that it will be releasing a new miniseries based on Harlan Ellison‘s screenplay of Star Trek original series episode “City on the Edge of Forever,” with cover art by Juan Ortiz.
So let’s break this down a little. First, new Star Trek comic miniseries, excellent. That it’s based on the screenplay for the episode where Kirk, Spock, and Bones end up in the U.S. in the 1930′s, excellent. That it’s based on the original screenplay that few have ever seen, which won Hugo and Writer’s Guild of America awards and which was written by Harlan Ellison (The Twilight Zone, Tales From the Darkside, Babylon 5, The Outer Limits, etc., etc.) and it is being developed with his approval and input, even more excellent.
And finally, that it will feature covers by Juan Ortiz, »
