According to the tell-all book 'King of the Night', Carson's son, who was acting as a stage manager for this show, hated the feature sketch, showing his dad as an old Tarzan "with a wig that looked like a vacuum cleaner bag had been dumped on his head." During rehearsals, the son said: "You're my father and now I can't even look at you." Carson replied: "Son, the reason your father has to dress up like this is so you can sit under a tree and play your guitar."
