Storyline

Nikki's archaeologist friend Patrick is excited when a woman's body, apparently a thousand years old,is unearthed on a Yorkshire moor. However dental records show she is a more recent murder victim and Leo,who once worked in the area, believes she is Jodie Fisher, who went missing in 1985. Three other girls were murdered and the killer,Karl Bentley, caught and jailed. Leo,unsuccessful in his efforts with Janet to make a baby and applying to adopt, reencounters Jodie's mother, old flame Carol, before visiting Bentley, who creepily says that his actions were 'out of love'. Then another woman is killed. Written by don @ minifie-1

Exceptional storytelling.

The body of a young woman is discovered on Bleakstone Moor. The Police call in archaeologist Professor Patrick Cain, who is fortunately being assisted in his work with Nikki. The body was preserved in peat and deemed to be fairly ancient, but when Nikki begins the PM Leo remembers something about the location of the body and begins investigating, he discovers the body is actually recent. The body is linked to Karl Bentley, serving a life sentence for the murders of three young women. Leo travels to Sheffield to meet with the Fisher family, he goes for a DNA sample, he is warmly received by mother Carol, whom he'd had a fling with years ago, but it coolly received by Bill. It turns out the girl wasn't their daughter Jodie, and the discovery of the body on the Moors causes the death of another young woman. Meanwhile Harry's old school friend Francis turns up out of the blue from Hong Kong, leaves son Niall with Harry, and does a bunk.

Absolutely brilliant episode, I love the characters, Mark Benton is such a good actor, he made Patrick Cain so much fun, I loved how he dealt with Nikki. The two cops were great too, Christine Tremarco is always great value, but how utterly brilliant was Tony Pitts (DS Balshaw) so funny and strong. One of the best stories for Leo for a while too, Gaminara was at his absolute best, scenes with Barbara Flynn were amazing. The ever lovely Jaye Griffits was particularly good too, I'm a big fan.

Fantastic story, brilliantly produced, well acted, as dark as it is there are some touches of humour. Possibly guilty of being a wee bit graphic, but exceptionally good. 9/10
